? re. Mounting IH wheel weights (2 each side) on 1650...

I've looked at the options and have decided to bite the bullet and purchase IH wheel weights (the $100 dollar a 50lb set white ones) for my 1650 for snow duty. I'll be pushing an IH 48" blade.

My question is, what/how do the weights mount to the wheels and will I need to purchase/find mounting hardware as well? If so, I'm planning on really biting the bullet and going with 2 each (weights) on each of the rear wheels. I believe this is a supported configuration. Is some other form of mounting hardware required to mount 2 on each side vs. 1 per side?

Thanks for any input. I just want to make sure I get everything I need in one shot. I'm really pushing it having waited this late to get what I need, so don't want to have weights sitting around unusable while I wait on hardware I didn't know I also needed to arrive :)

Thanks,

-Calvin

Wayne M. Double check the rules section. We can"t talk $$ here. They're worth what your willing to pay...Check some of our old classifieds and see what stuff sold for.

Put carriage bolts though the back of the rim to hold your wheel weights on.1/2 x 8" will probaly hold two sets on. I use two bolts per wheel here .

Calvin, as Don mentioned just readily available 1/2" dia. carriage bolts are all that required. Two bolts per weight if you put one set on the inside of the rim and one set on the outside total of 8 bolts needed for 4 weights. If you put both sets on the outside you'll only need two bolts for the set, they'll just have to be longer, for a total of 4 bolts. Note that the bolt length will differ for the inside weights and the outside weights due to the off set of the wheel rim. I prefer one set on the inside and one set on the outside, makes for a cleaner install, no weights hanging way out to catch on shins, snow banks, trees and stuff in your garage or shed.

I don`t think you can put IH weights on the inside of the wheel on a 1650 with the brake roter .I could be mistaken .

Don, good point! If Calvin's 1650 has the disc brakes the weight wont fit on the inside.

I was wondering if anyone has just flipped the springs on a WF mechanical pto. I recently went through two and the last one had quite a bend in both springs. All of the parts were fine so I decided to try the spring flip. I got it together (needing about 4 hands) and remembered this pto had two discs. I ran out of bolt thread and the inner springs were closed all of the way.

Kraig-

What is that bracket for on the back of Brad Datismans red custom. It has the two hooks on either side and the hydraulic couplers attached. Is this for a grass catcher? I've come across a couple of them so far both on WFs.

Well I finally was able to purchase the CW36 snow thrower I post pictures of a wile back.I needed to know it came with the chute rotator rod and the lift bar. Got an email that it has a long spring also and brackets.?

. I`am thinking a spring assist for the thrower

.I will travel this week and bring it home. That thrower would break in the 125 rebuild. Must dig out a tractor and install it
