Has anyone every "successfully" insulated a cab on a Cub?? I did one on an Oliver YEARS ago and it worked out ok. I was a Hiniker Cab, but basically the same concept as a Sims Cab. Wasn't sure if there was enough material there to attach the foam insulation to or if there was just too much window?

The more I look at them, the more I like them on a Cub. Would be the "ultimate" snow removal machine with a cab I'd say!

They are a lot quieter. Cub says about 33%. I say more.

Notice the crimp on the end. It's made for the extension and if that's not used, you cut it to length.

Being caller #1 out of 25 gets you this...

. I`am about to set the 12 K back into the 125 and see a problem. If I install all the tin and gas tank how do I re torque the head bolts. I would have to remove the fuel tank and most all tin.

Kraig

What did you do ?? With the holes in the tin not allowing a re torque with it installed

Kraig,

I actually drew up that "1468" design for Bryan...way back when.......in 2002....

I have a deck like that that needs a new belt.

Don T.

I leave the tin off and set up a temp gas tank to run,(duct taped to the front grill)then I retorque after it is cooled down.

Lewis Palma

Thanks for that reply.I have the carb in the ultrasonic cleaner and have a new kit to install.
I have to install the wiring harness and soon drop this rebuild into the 125. I have a plastic tank here and will duck tape it fast to get gas to the carb to run the engine.

Had to pour hot water on my hide away wipers on my car this am.The freezing rain we had made a mess. Roads are wet now and no wipers don`t work . Have a great day !

Don-
Fixin' the hyd lift linkage on your 149, eh?

Don
Thats what connects the hydraulic lift handle to the control valve along with a few misc. pieces.

Bill
One of the those decks sure looks like a 50".

Don, for the first start and warm up I set the fuel tank on a saw horse and held it there with a bungee cord. I used a long length of fuel line from the tank to the carb. After the head bolts were re-torqued I installed the fuel tank and proceeded with the governor adjustments.

Thanks for that picture , gives me a few ideas

I want to work that 12 K rebuild and adjust it closer after the re torque . I would love a picture will all the spacers on before the tin goes on the head. looking at the 107 I see I need studs and spacers. Now that picture would be Cats A$$ .

Art
Well now , I knew you knew lol. Just had to see who was

It would be great IF Charlie was to sell head studs, spacers and head bolts .I bet there would be only a few different lengths to stock. (hint)

With all the talk of mufflers and engine roar, is there a muffler for those who prefer a quieter ride?

Please don't kick me out of the Cub Cadet owners club for asking such a question!
a---allalone.gif

I bought a new muffler from one of the site sponser for my 147, but I have not used it yet. I am sure it will not be as quiet as I want it to be.

I will need one for my 127 which has a vertical stack with what looks like a muffler, but it is hollow. I don't know if it was that way from the start, or happened over time since it was a PO modification. I guess I can go to NAPA and see what they have that fits my current setup.

Bill Jamison

That is a great find. Dang I wish I had that kind a luck. I tend to buy them in much sadder shape. I hope you got the breather cover,They are deeper tha a 149.

Jerry Harvey "Nines are wild"

What no Cub work going on ? I have batteries on charge and doing a carb rebuild. I put a new pin in the lift and got this from Charlie as the next replacement,That pin was a pain to get in. I did come up with a solution. ( a nut a piece of tape to get the pin started)lol
