I'm guessing that is clearance for the Hood Ornament screws on the 70/100's. My early S/N 70 (26th one made) has a different nose housing with a single tab in the center - No clearance slot there

As I was signing in I saw Bryan's name and I only had that picture in my head of him in the hospital bed...

So I figured I needed to write this and use this..

I only got to meet him once ( at the red power in 2000 ) with Dan (of crawler fame) and Jim Chabot, and we had a great chat but it was all to quickly over. We said we'd do it again at another red power.. but it never happened. I guess I'm feeling a bit melancholy.. that time of year??
