Mike F - are you gonna give in that easy? I thought your 7hp and 36 thrower could handle most anything.

Who's givin' in??? I even posted pics! You don't think that parking space for the Focus just appeared magically do ya? Heck, that was frozen and I had to hit it with the rear hitch to bust it up before running it through the thrower...

The "small blocks" can get it done. Just take your time and enjoy the ride is my new mantra!! ROFL...

This guy looks familiar. See post from Dec. 19th

Brian, yup I have been under the care of a cardiologist/electrophysiologist for close to 3 years now. My LVEF was as low as 23% at one point, its now back to 46%. I have a Autonomic disorder called Dysautonomia/Postural otrhostatic tachycardia syndrome. With all the meds im on im surprised I even eat food these days...lol

Harry, yes I have chains on...but I so need to get another set of wheel weights. My son needed them worse than I did with the plow,so I was a softie an let him have them.

Another 5" of snow on its way they say,so ill get to test things out tomorrow morning :D It just means more seat time,an I plan on playing as much as I can !

" Charlie -So now it's ok to ask what's something is worth and then it's also ok to get an answer? "

So youre saying it is ok to do this now or you dont know yet ? LOL....hes so going to slap me yet...lol

LMAO @ talking to the empty chair....

So anyways back on topic of Cubs. Will a 10 HP adequately handle a 42" thrower or or they only good with 36 " ? I dont think I really seen a good answer before ?

We are thinking about finding another 104 so Ken has one also, hes gotten the bug now too watching me play...lol

Charlie-
Instead of chastising the forum members about asking "what's it worth" questions, perhaps you need to have stern words with the other moderators of the forum for not putting a stop to it while you were out getting a loaf of bread.

I say you start with Kraig first!

Amy, here's my 122 with a 10 hp in it, it handles the 42 inch fairly well, granted it works it pretty good, but Mr. Plow says "if your not workin it up against the governor, your not feeding it hard enough:, Ive run this unit for 4 years, its worked well Getya one!!!

Amy - there isn't one "good" answer. As you can see Mick's pick, it will handle it and he says it works well. He's using a gear drive, don't know if he has a creeper. Jon has a hydro. I have to say I know a 10hp hydro or gear drive will certainly operate a 42" thrower, but I'm not sure it will be able to handle the throwers full capacity in all snow conditions. I happen to think a hydro has more advantage with a thrower because of the infinitely variable speed control. I suspect with a gear drive you have to use 2nd gear and feather the clutch. So, will it work? Yes. Will it work adequately? Well, Yes but depending. I would say if someone has a choice between a 36 and 42 for use with a 10hp they will be better off with a 36. If someone's only choice is a 42 then I'd certainly get it. This stuff isn't just setting on store shelves waiting for us.

Jim - I've heard that before, and don't know why. I've got a terrific e-mail address and nice pic in my profile but will e-mail you (

Charlie & Harry - Thanks for the quick answer. I'll definately look at the manuals/parts list. I thought there might be a kinda-sorta rule of thumb like I think there is for tractors that came with and without headlights. I gather some were standard and others were dealer installed. Don't know if this was the same for front tires - just courius as I see some IHCC's for sale and see the narrow tires and think to myself, that just doesn't look right for that tractor.

On another note/quick question - using the snow blade on the 109 yesterday, the button for the lift lever is very tight. Are these things prone to rusting-up inside the lift arm or is it likely I've got a weak spring - or both? Any tips for the easiest way to rejuvinate the lift arm spring/button assembly?

Under Edit: Reading the FAQ's on the lift lever, but may have quick questions after reading it...
