Does anyone know if i can purchase a replacement plug end for the ignition switch on a 982? I got the motor running well yesterday to find out that the plug at the ignition switch is melted. I am replacing the switch today but still need to replace the plug.

I'll bet if you call Rob Houtz or Scott Madson, they will have what you need.
You know, the sponsors listed above.

STEVEN B. - If your new switch is a match to your old switch you should be able to get a replacement plug from a good auto parts store like NAPA, not sure about any others. I'd take the old switch to make sure all the recepticals are in the right locations. Personally I have terrible luck finding ANYTHING at my local NAPA but many have much better luck.

If that fails you might have to remove the terminals from the plug and solder on replacement spade terminals. A small screw driver or dental pic works good for releasing the wires & lugs from the connectors.

Have any of you guys seen this happen or know what would cause it to melt

Loose connection or ground, faulty switch or something else is faulty like a relay and or it just got tired and decided to end it all!

CHARLIE, STEVEN - Yeah, IH's idea of running the headlights thru the ignition switch wasn't such a good idea. I almost burned my CC 72 up 5-6 yrs ago when a push/pull light switch failed. Luckily the charred remains of the old switch was the only damage, but it could have been MUCH worse!

I've a Kohler command pro 22 that I took it apart today, and found the gear on the end of the crank, will not turn the cam.It is not crack,it just spins. Will I have to replace it with a new crank,or can it be fixed.THX

Several made leaf vacuums/rakes/suckers that attached to the rear, that had hose attachments, but I don't know of any for the front.
This guy converted one for his Cub though. It' pretty cool.

Charlie,
Looks to me like you could put an angle chute on it and aim it to the front also. Perhaps from a snowblower?

hey there still wondering about the possibility of a rear end swap in my 125 again the serial placed it as a 1970. also with the exhaust i would still like to swap the exhaust between the two motors. the 10hp has an old spin on type muffler (also with this one the pipe seems rusted to the block any tips in removal would be great) then the pipe going into the block on the 12hp can be rocked around. is this likely a rusted out pipe or block and should i probably just leave it alone

Boots,
If soaking it with PB Blaster or Kroil doesn't loosen it up.
Hack saw it off close to the block.
Then take a hacksaw blade and cut down close to the threads in 3 or 4 places and take a small chisel and tap out the pieces. That's worked for me a number of times.

On the one that's loose, sometimes chasing the threads will bring it back enough to grab.

I got a call yesterday from my local post office saying they have a package for a Donald wilbur Tanner. All I could hear in the background was laughter .Thanks Charlie for the always prompt shipments and adding a little bright moment to boring day at the local PO.

QA42A is the number for a snowthrower/blower that fits the 1650. Is there a number or name for the blade that fits it?

Thanks!
Beth

FAIK, they are just 42 or 54 Spring trip blades.
I don't recall any model# designations, course I have CRS most of the time.

Does someone (Kraig) have a picture of a spring assist for a 147? I know it's a nf and all I have is the spring, adjusting bolt with its bracket, and arm. I checked the parts lookup and it shows a small bracket and U bolt. I'd like to get a better look as to what I'll be looking for.

TIA.....Wayne
