DTanner: when you say "pull the pin on the rod that engages the pto" what pin are you talking about?

Davin Erickson
Well like I said I don`t have a 70 cub. But the rod used to adjust the PTO sometimes has a pin to hold it in place on the dash or down on the pto pivit . If there is no pin you will have to slacken the pto adjustment or remove the grill. Art A, Crag might be able to find a picture for you

don, you have a 100! thats the same thing, loosen the adjusting turnbuckle untill it comes appart, push the arm foreward then you should have plenty of clerance.

I understand now. I found the exploded schematic and it looks like the belt will then squeeze between the thrust button and the wear button. Thanks again. I'll try and get some pictures during our big storm that's coming Wednesday.

Matt Stetar
I sure do have a 100 and I thought they were the same but the 100 is in my 12x16 storage shed with 2 O`s and a sweeper and a wood spliter and my atv between the 100 and the door. Its there till its spring.

I`am glad you got it, hope to see some snow blowing pictures soon. we have about 3" here.

I'll have to believe the rubber seat on this 124 is incorrect, then. Sound like it was the low end basic seat for the 10 hp tractor and the 12 hp had an upgraded seat. If it wasn't used on the 122 & 123, there's no reason to think it's correct for a 124. Thanks, Jerry

Pull the PTO lever out away from the battery box until it can move forward far enough to clear it (past the lever stop) and the throw out button will move enough to pass the belt. No need to re-adjust the linkage.

Well another job put on hold waiting for parts. When I took the hydro pump apart i found an extra pin. I don`t know if this was ever apart before by the PO, I think he did to weld all the pieces on the shaft. I do have to switch the end bearing and waite for a gasket.

and here is a picture of what is in a hydro pump all ready to go back together.

I did my best to keep everything clean and I hope to get this all back together and it will work properly. later Don T

Don,

One hole has 2 pins in it, part of the design. Read the manual carefully and look at the diagrams closely.

Donald,

The shear bolts are all that holds the auger assemblies to the main shaft, you are 100% correct. The shaft may have burrs on from the pins shearing, making removal difficult. Once cleaned up they will slide right off. I add a slight chamfer to the holes in the main shaft, that way the shear pins won't displace the shaft making the next removal much easier.

sometimes I post before I think, I did not notice the 2 pins on the trunion side. but it does make sence now. thanks for that info. I just hope I don`t forget how this all goes back together.
Jim Diederichs
I have a bur here and after I drilled out the pin(bolt)I used my bur and cleaned up the end of the hole. I had to work at this to find how it comes apart and when it did not come easily I soaked it with PB blaster and drank a coffie. lol
Thanks Guys later Don T

Jerry...The original fiberglass bucket could have broken by the PO, could have backed into a tail gate or dropped a tree branch on it. I don't believe I have seen an intact fiberglass seat bucket yet. I know there out there but I haven't seen one, other than on these forums.

Almost forgot, most everyone I've talked to also dislikes the rubber seats of the 102. I modified one to use on my 73 and I like it. I only weigh like 178 so maybe that has something to do with it, they are quite spongy feeling.

Steve Blunier "Mr. Plow"
I was useing the instruction when I took that pump apart and well they would be part number 30 and two is all that is in the parts list. but I will install them as I think they should go. thanks Don T

Matt Stator,

I wasn't online much this weekend but I'll fulfill your request for pics of the loader O working.

This Sugar Maple was at the limit of what the loader can pick up. Pump kind of squealed a little.

From a couple of years ago. I cut wood at dad's and by the time I got home we had this snow. I couldn't drive my truck through the yard without really tearing up a lot of turf so I kept running back and forth loading the little trailer and bucket with wood. (I have a bigger trailer now)

Neither pic is very recent, but I did use it this summer moving dirt. Now that I have another running Original I don't drive this one around much. I just like driving an O around for some reason.

Don:
I like a good mystery...where the h... does the third pin go? Let us know when you figure it out, cause I'm looking at the manual and see just the two #30's also...
I'm looking at the "supplement to GSS-1369" which is for older tractors - maybe the 1512D (oops, OT) has more parts..

the big bad bear is going to get us for this
poof.gif
lol. Well there was only 2 number 30 pins in the parts list and I was having a little trouble getting them out as one pushed the other against the bottom inside the case. Now that I look at it i can understand why they put 2 pins on the side of the trunnion and only one on the other side. the pins are short because of a clearance issue as one long pin could not be pushed through and would hit the case before it came out. This is not the first time I have found clips or pins where there was no instructions as to where they were in directions . later Don T
Kendal I`am sure all the hydro pumps on all Cubs are like this with 3 pins in total

I have only one word to say. And the person to whom that word is directed, knows who he is, and WILL take the appropriate action, I am confident of that fact!

guys ( Charlie) since this pump is the same as all ported pumps on all hydro Cub Cadets this is an on topic post.I have found that you can never trust a manual as changes are made and the manuals are never updated to show these changes. One must work always with caution in taking apart something like this pump. I`am glad I had a small mirror in the shop when the pin seemed to bottom out as if I would have kept beating on the pin I would have smashed the case. later Don T

Digger,
Am I the offending unit here? In the spirit of helping others I was responding to a member's question. Hope not but WTH? Wasn't trying to upset anyone, just offer help. PM me...

BTW, please check email. I inquired about a part for an x82 and haven't heard back from you. Still need said part, so let me know.
