I just showed Angel this picture and she suggests maybe their waiting for an ice cream truck.

Wayne, have you put the kitten in the bedroom yet? it sounds to me like she's ready. She definitely needs more room then being in a carrier all the time and by what you've said, she seems trusting and comfortable with you. So I would make the switch soon, for her sake, and your sake so you can become more familiar with one another. funny that Millie is so spooked by her. That was a cute pic of Graygirl squished in the box. It doesnt look comfortable, but she seems to be ohhh so comfy squished.? lol.

Kraig, did you take Blackie to the farm. I'm sure he'd be happy there, and better for everyone.

Allen, I didnt realize you had so many kitties in the house. So, it seems its time for a kitties explosion update with pics? lol..and

Wayne, no you aren't weird that you have switched from Labs to kitties. And 4 kitties isnt a huge amount. If you are going to adopt her out, if she isn't going to stay there, then I wouldnt at any point take her back outside. I would solely get her use to being an inside kitty. That would be best for adoptive parents. My thoughts anyways.

David your pics are pricless. Like they say one pic is worth a thousand words. BJ crashed out with his catnip mouse is tooo funny. He musta been really playing wild and crazy prior to his crash, huh? And Princess and Pumpkin waiting? I do believe they heard an ice cream truck was about to come around the corner.!!! great pics.!!

Well, this week Fancy and I are going to have to do power walks early on as we are to have triple digit heat all week. Yicks.

Daddy brought home a new box and immediately a little girl claimed it, Right before I shot this, she was peeking out, with only her ears and eyes showing..lol

Cathleen, the black cat has not been back since I took the photos of him lounging on the deck. He has been quite elusive lately. If he shows up when I have time to transport him to the farm I will try to. Can't go wrong with a cat and a box.

Kraig, seems you take a pic, then the kitty disappears, till someone says something, then it reappears to have its pic taken again..elusive is right.! lol.

Kitties and Boxes and Kitties and Sacks equal entertainment annnnnd...ownership to whoever gets there the fastest. Fancys thing is plastic spoons and Annie loves plastic straws. Fanc is quite fanciful at flipping the spoons, pickcing them up and tossing them, yes, you read that right..who knew? lol

everyone have a comfortable day..hope its not as hot in your neck of the woods as it is here in the midwest.?

Cath

David. well it looks to me as though BJ is a very dutiful TUTOR!
thanks for sharing.

Wayne, how is your little tuxedo girl doing? Been wondering about her and how it is all going these days?

Yesterday I sealt with really BAD eye pain coupled with a major headache too, had to lay down but Hannah came to my rescue and positioned herself, pushing her body against me to offer relief, and this is what it looks like , I guess. Prior to marlin snapping the pic, Hannah had her sweet little face cuddled in my hand

Annie thought she would blend into the counter top and take up a new resting spot, although she wasn't doing such a good job of blending in, and made a mess of my bills since she rearranged things to setlte into the corner. lol

I am Puma kitty..here me ROAR? lol

Cathleen-

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. That's never fun.

The kitten has graduated to the large dog pen in the living room. I take her for walks through the house just to get her use to things for the future. I'll be so glad when I can open the door and let her out with the rest and know she'll come back. The others are slowly warming up to her as well...especially Barney for some reason. He even comes in the room and sits a few feet away watching her. The kitten plays for hours on end too. It's amazing how the simplest of things can be made a toy like the ring around the top of the milk jug. That has always been one of Millies favorites. I also put a "ball" of aluminum foil in there which she enjoys but it had to go because she was tearing it up into small pieces. She also has a small cardboard box like Graygirls and gets in it for naps. Oh, she's also a tail chaser. She just can't figure out how that tail knows just when she plans to dart towards it and always moves right out of reach.

Cath... sad to hear you're under the weather! Heres hoping it passes quickly!

Thanks for the update Wayne, that's good news - the kitty is fitting in!

Wayne, its such great news to hear little one is doing so well. Yeah, they like the little things. I had a kitty that if you catapulted a milk carton ring like off the counter she would chase after it and bring it back and repeat the process. They love those milk rings. Paper sacks..put one in her house for her..lol. Lol on her tail.!! So cute that Barney has taken up a fasination with her. Perhaps they will be " buds".? Sooo, does SHE have a name yet? thanks for the update.!!

Thanks Wayne and Mike for your thoughts.

Cath

I haven't named her yet. I'm "old school" when it comes to names. The reason I named Millie (short for Camille) is that was the name of my second cousin that caught her and brought her here. My brothers cat is named Sally, I've had a Suzie, and now I'm thinking about naming her after my first girlfriend Lynda. Spelling it that way was really different back then. Nowadays names are made up and it doesn't even have to sound like a name.

Barney actually touched noses with her as I held her close to him this am.

I'll have to try a small paper sack. She loves the priority USPS box she has. Last night she was flipping it and getting under it. It was a hoot.

Wayne, its so much fun hearing all about what the little girl is doing. Its so awesome that Barney and her Beeped noses.!! I do believe they are going to be Besties. lol. Kittens are soo entertaining. They can make nothing into fun, can't they? Keep up the updates with Lynda? and of course the rest of the KIDS.!!

Allen? I'm still waiting to see pics of the EIGHT furkids you have in the house...hint hint hint

We have always tried to pick fitting names for our kitties. When we named Fancy, Marlin named him " Fancy Stepper" because as a wee kitten he had this Fancy little step to himself. Annie was actually named by our Vet. When we took her into the vet the afternoon that Fancy discovered her, she asked us what we had named her. We said we hadn't come up with her name yet, and Dr. Kim said, how about Orphan Annie, since she was an orphan and that seemed right. With Hannah, it was her and her identical sister. I thought Hannah was a boy at first and so I named them Hansel and Gretel and when I discovered that Hansel was a girl, I swichted it up to Hannah. With Tootsie, Marlin named her in memory of a friend, Grace, " Gracious Tootsie", and Tootsie became the shorter version.

Good morning! You just made me think of the little boy that got a cat and named it Ben. When the cat had kittens he renamed it Ben Hur.

Chirp Chirp. No, not a bird chirping, but crickets. And this morning, we had a challenge..Kitties Versus Baby Cricket.!! Hannah discovered a baby cricket mosing along the floor and had her eye on it. Well, I guess Annie had zommed in on it too and when we saw Hannah was to, she quickly ran up to her with a swift right and a lower left jab and me hollering, Hey!! Hey!! Heeeey NOW!! Annie backed off and then Fancy wanted to see what all the hubbub was about and about that time the wee one hopped, and all three were then zoned in on it. Each took turns pawing it..Daddy Marlin was handing out instructions..NO NO, dont kill the cricket and I said, oh no they won't. They just like to play with them and watch them. Every time the little guy would hop the kitties would flinch or jump too. lol. Well, Fanc had had enough of everyone pawing over the cricket and everyone claiming ownership of it, so he ATE IT. OH NO, I said, now the cricket is tickling his tummy.! With that, Annie gave her daddy a very disgusting look, lunged at him, wrapping her paws around his neck and she got a couple of good but not painful bites to his neck and then she backed off. Fanc looked at her like " Really? I mean Really?..and with that he snorted and walked off. Hannah just sat there, looking all perplexed at WHY Fanc would eat the cricket and not share in the play. What a bummer. lol

The other day when I came home for a convenience store run a large orange cat bolted from my sage plot and so I went to look to see if it left totally or was around the corner. It was around the corner and when I talked to it, it didnt run, but sat there with a very worrisome, troubled look on his face

I really dont like strays around, as a fight
262391.gif
could then ensue with Fanc. I was really upset later then when I walked over to get the mail and I came upon a rabbits head..no body, popgif{262386,} just the head. Then I was tick\ed off
262392.gif
at the kitty, because I KNEW he had done the dirty deed. Maybe that is why he had such a worrisome look on his face? lol. Around here, Bunnies are our friends..we dont kill bunnies.!!!

Cath

This was a first yesterday. I walked into the bedroom to find all three kids on Hannahs bed. if anyone is on HER bed, she won't lay with them. Well, at times she will lay with Fancy, but NEVER Annie..so I snapped a pic..
