I just recently installed hydraulics on my 129. If anyone has questions, I'd be happy to help! -Brian.

Reference charlies FAQ #67 regarding how to re-install the front blade springs. I picked up a spare blade that I'm planning a project around. Would like to disassemble blade to clean it up, however both springs are currently attached. Does one just remove the pivot rod to detach the springs, or is there a special trick/technique involved? Note: I removed the subframe from the blade by utilizing a small bottle jack to pry the subframe ears apart far enough to slip one ear off. Was there an easire way?

Which should I use? I have 2 different lift assist spring setups. see pic. Top one was on lift bar got it on the 104 I picked up. it attaches by clamping to bar then spring bolts to bracket at rear of tractor frame. bottom one is one I got off esplay, has bigger spring and rod that connects to lift handle-I think. Any ideas which one would be better? I will be using a snow blade front and 3 point sleeve hitch in rear. 8" plow is heaviest attachment I have so far. Thanks for any input on this.

Harry: I would go with the factory just because its cool! Could you do both?

Roland: THanks

Dustin -which one is factory : the bigger white spring or smaller one on lift bar?

Harry, the smaller one on the bar is a Brinly helper spring, the larger one with the white spring is the IH helper spring. The Brinly requires a rear lift to be installed in order to mount it as it bolts to the lift bar. The IH one can be installed without the rear lift as it mounts to the rockshaft. If you have two Cubs and one doesn't have a rear lift, mount the IH assist on that one and install the Brinly on the Cub with the rear lift.

thanks for info- I only have one Cub (now) so I'll use the brinly lift. Will it help with snow blade lift since it(lift bar ) connects to lift handle? or do I need to get another tractor- one for snow one for everything else?

Ray Leo and I met for lunch today and took simultaneous pictures. Our discussion included hydro creep, his 7HP rebuild, life in general...

And I finally got his book back to him. It's been over a year, considering we work within a few blocks of eachother...

Harry, yes it will work for the snow blade too, the lift is all connected to the lift arm so front and back are both assisted by the spring.

Bryan, well in any case you beat Ray to posting the photo.
