Thanks Steve, Kinda thought it belonged there, just hope I can find 2 gaskets. I could make them though if I cant find 'em.

Got a road trip planned for tommorrow, by the looks of the weather I'm probly gonna wish I'd done it today!!!

Terry- As long as your K161 engine pan has a drain plug on the bottom of the pan instead of the side I would say it is good to go to install in a later style Cub.

Thanks Kraig, that helps. But I have two questions.
1. It looks like the decal on the r/h side of the tunnel cover is "Important, Do Not Tow". Is that correct?
2. I have a label with my kit that says "release drive" which I think goes on the tunnel cover also. Mine has the auto release check valves. Does that decal apply?

Norm, sorry, I wish I had the answer for you. Perhaps someone that is better versed in Quiet Line details will chime in.

Sounds good, I will check that stuff out. Have new points, condensor, & coil coming - have a feeling I will need them sooner than later!

Dennis,
Glad you decided to comment! Both carbs have been stripped and broke down and dunked in to sit in the carb cleaner. They both are all nice and shinney clean, inside and out now! I took whose ever suggestion it was before to strain the fuel - I bought new fuel and strained it through a funnel when filling them both back up. The carb on the Onan, I got the little wire hooked over the tab for the float - made sure not to break it off too when cleaning it.

How do you guys install and in-line fuel filter in a solid line from the bowl to the carb?

Kraig,
I am glad you have troubles like I do sometimes!

I ordered a new float today for the Carter carb. I notice as soon as I seen the picture there were 2 tabs on it - mine has ONE. I am guessing that will alow too much gas to flow into the bowl. I figure that it ran good before because the carb was gummed up so much that it would allow it to stick and not as much gas would get into the bowl. If it didn't want to speed up would that possibly have been an issue? TOO MUCH GAS? It was almost flooding itself out? Jsut a thought.

Hey Ryan - guess I can just swap out the pan since mine does indeed have the drain on the side. Thanks for the info - sounds like I'm good to go.

On the float tab issue - have torn down several older carbs and not a single one had both tabs. Must have changed at some point - they can't possibly all be wrong.
