FAQ 9 - https://www.ihcubcadet.com/IHCCFAQ/SleeveHitchAdapter.htm

Ok Mike and Wayne and Frank and everyone else - Can I say it was a slip of the tongue (keyboard)? I know it's a 3 point hitch but for some reason I always seem to say 3 point sleeve hitch - so much so that I even type it without realizing. At some point in the past I recall always calling it a 3-point and everyone I talked to said it didn't look like any 3 point they knew of, and then somehow I started calling it a 3point sleeve hitch and that seems to fix the issue - and then this Forum came along and I've been wrong ever since except everyone knows what I'm talking about. I will attempt to get it correct in the future (and I even told Wayne that a few weeks ago, and slipped up again - dang it).

Wayne methinks a 5/8" pin will be a bit loose
in the sleeve.

Mike - "razz", is that some brand of a new cool one?

Frank - you waited 4 months to check? And what happened. I thought there was an "s" on the 169. Is my memory wrong? Mike F used to have one - but he probably hasn't checked his either.

No s on the 169, although I suppose I could call it sANDY. Nope, can't. I did tell a little white lie, though. It's 2 149s, a 169, a 125 and a 123 out there. This is the summer for herd thinning - if 1 comes in 2 will have to go. My memory's not that great, so I hope someone will remind me that I said that.

There is a 782 listed locally for sale. The owner says the repair shop says there is no spark. According to the ad, it is a 1980 model, so I am guessing it would be a series I engine. By the photo, it looks a little rough, but not beyond help with a bit of TLC.

What are the thoughts on taking a chance on this thing? I have next to zero engine experience, although I am learning. What are the chances of no spark turning into broken connecting rods?

Without tearing things apart and checking- is it safe to assume a worn trunnion slot when I get jerky acceleration and deceleration with the hydro lever?

Thanks

Harry, "Razz" can be an adult beverage if you prefer! Maybe when you get back to the right coast we can find out!?!?!

And I still have the 169, it stayed warm and dry all winter in the shop.. right next to a 28 Model "A", 34 Ford Coupe and a 48 F-1..

I hope to get the engine out and rebuilt over this summer. I'll also toss the balance gear setup and try Mr. Kirk's setup, along with the point saver deal. Then I'll break it down, for a complete overhaul and paint. Oh, I did find the parts to add in the hydraulic lift also.

It'll become my snow thrower rig and the 73 will get the blade in winter and mow in summer. And somewhere in there I need to do at least one of the originals to trailer queen status.
