Its not the original motor. I bought it three yrs ago didn't know nothing about cubs just wanted one , still don't know much btw. just that I love mine and wouldn't part with It, Any way found it in an ad went and looked liked and bought. The guy said he didn't check oil and blew motor which I wouldn't have known had he not told me, I had looked on the net and knew they had 12hps on the 122 and he said it was replaced with a 12hp. I did a search on motor , had to call kohler found the motor can off I think a 1963 tractor that they only made one yr. still didn't ask about hp because I still thought I had a 12.Then as time past I found the 12hp was a k-301 mine is a k-241 so I assumed it was a 10hp the plate on motor says k-241 ser 780144 spec.no 46227a Any way was told it was a 12 when I bought it. ran it for couple of years thought it was a 10hp. Then had it rebuilt and the guy and also the mechinic told me it was a 12hp. So now baffled again. Is the plate right or is the mechinic that sold the motor to the guy I bought it from and also the other two that rebuilt it for me right

Dennis, What is the EWC "?" Wheel Co.?? Didn't see it by the valve stem but did see it near the dish/stuf holes. Did see the Firestone and date stampings.

I know the French and Hecket(sp) Co. made wheel for IH wayyyy back in the very early days of pneumatic tires on tractors. My 1934 F-12 had F and H wheels on it.

TOM - ELECTRIC WHEEL CO., QUINCY, IL. It was owned by Firestone back in the 70's & 80's. Not sure when Firestone bought & sold EWC for sure but I thnk it's on TITAN's website. Now it's home base to TITAN Wheel. The EWC on the rim I've always found on the "inside" of the rim, where the stamped IH part number & date are. It won't be over 2-3 inches away from the valve stem hole.

F&H had big rim rolling lines in downtown Davenport, forget which intersection it was at, East River Drive and either 2nd or 3rd Street.

Their small rim lines were in Walcott. I never really got a tour of either plant but when they ran the most popular big rims like 16" x 38" for 18.4 X 38 tires they could fill Dozens of semi-loads a shift. A 45 ft trailer only held 104 rims, a 40 ft 96 pcs, and I used over 300 most days.

One thing F&H did for IH E. Moline they never even offered FARMALL was mounting up tires to wheels, and install hubs, lug nuts/bolts. In the winter & early spring EM got BURIED trying to keep up with planters and still built combines even though they wouldn't be used for several months and F&H supplied wheel assemblies ready to attach to planters as quick as possible. At FARMALL we had ONE Guy with a Coates 1010 tire machine like a gas station/tire shop would have and he could keep up with the line!

Good news for me. The 129 loader has been repaired and now sits on all four tires lol. I had a friend help me bend the channel back straight and weld in the bushing. today I bought a roll pin and added it to keep the pin in place. I did have the loader out of the shop toady just for a test run and I have a big grin again.I will have to grease it in the am and then its ready to work. Thanks to you guys and your help. Always Don T

Charlie,
You Dog! Where do you live and what time do you go to sleep. I'll be there to "pick them up" after lights out.

Tom,
I'm safe, cause I know you ain't gonna get close to snow anymore this year and we've still got plenty on the ground, LOL
8 sets of rears and 8 sets of front stones showed up here today.
Kinda like when the wife and I go to Fleet Farm, she always finds me checking out the tire section.

Your right, grass is just starting to green up a bit. Are the fronts "23's" too?

Charlie-

You gonna share where you got those?

I wasn't paying much attention until you posted the 'made in the USA' pic.

Thanks so much Ron for the suggestions to make sure the belt stays on the mower. I'll try all those things.

Charlie.... you dirty dog you!

I was just talking with another member on another forum about those tires. He said only place he seen them so far is Miller's. I had mentioned I seen them posted on another site with a price and thought it was a miss print. I thought they stopped making all sizes of the 23's? You going to load them puppies before you mount them?

You have me wound now, wanting to get the 782 cleaned up and get the rims ready for some new skin's.

CHARLIE - Those frts 16-6.50X8's?

The 23-10.50X12 23-deg. rears are available now, and the good news is that the 23-8.50's will be available later this summer. I think the 26-12.00X12's are making a come-back too, not sure if it'll be before or after the 8.50's.

Charlie & Dennis -

So what's the word on the street regarding continued availability of the 23's? Is it going to be a limited run or a long term production? I don't really NEED them right now, but if it's a first come, first served limited production run I better rearrange some of my spending priorities pretty quick!
