Well the first one came and left with about 2" overall and some deep drifts. My deepest was about 24" but the other two averaged about 18"

Jeff, bring it up to Beloit and I have some drifts you can move. I made 2 passes with my 1650 and snowthrower. On the 2nd pass, the snow was already 8" over the top of the thrower and the drift got deeper as it went acroos. The drift was over 20' wide amd about 50' long. The bad part was the gravel drive is so soft due to all the rain before the snow that the 1650 was digging holes trying to push the thrower into the drift and it has the rear tires full of calcium and an additional 50# in each wheel. Had to get the big M with v-plow out and it had trouble. Had to hit the drift sideways to break it up so I could push it out of the way. Both ends of the horseshoe driveway goes through a hill and it was over 3' deepin the west one.

Tom sorry to hear that,,, Wes I had the same soft gravel driveway issue in a few spots.

I do think I will try to find a little more weight for the 169, I curently have 1 set of IH wheel weights and a 85 pound weight on the rear-end but would like a little more on the wheels

Jeff-Nice action shots. I had your 169's brother out on Thursday with a 36" thrower. I could only get about two passes through before the snow became too wet and heavy. All it did was ball up in front of the thrower and plug it up. but, the 169's are definitely fun snow movers! The ground was so wet that the snow soaked up the moisture and make about 1" of slush.

This was from a couple weeks ago. Very slushy, and heavy stuff!

As I sit here by the nice warm pellet stove looking at the forum, snow storm Charlie is falling outside

! Here in east central WI we were supposed to get about 3". I think we are up to at least 6" out here in the country where I live. It is a perfect snow fall right now (huge light and fluffy flakes)and I'll be sure to take some pics and post them this afternoon. I got a new belt for the Cubbie yesterday and put it on last night so maybe we'll give that thing and the old 450 a try today...

Grandson and I were out plowing but couldn't keep up with it, so we came in to warm up and wait till it slows down.

Well we got some snow alright!!!

Out my back window about 15 minutes after my last post this morning.

251313.jpg

There was fair amount, maybe seven inches by the time we started snow removal but it was light fluffy stuff and the temps were around 25 degrees so it was decent working weather.

251314.jpg

I started with the Cubbie and it was working every bit as awesome as you guys say those 450's do with the fresh belt. My Uncle who helped me fab the electric lift came over and cleared most of my front drive and turn around area with it.

251315.jpg

Mean while, his son Russell was looking for something to do. So, I put him on the CubZ with the plow and let him clear around the shed.

I don't have any weight on it right now but with the chains we couldn't believe how much pushing power it still had.

By the time he was done, Russell had a huge grin on his face and said "I have to get me one of those!"

Well said Russell

Josh- I don't have any weights on my 147 and blade and couldn't believe how well it did with the 6 inches we got the other day. Weights are in order, but I'm still impressed how well it did. Some slippage, but not near as much as I thought it might.

Josh-

I guess the next best thing to having, or not having in this case, a cab is getting the uncle out there. Then you go and get the young buck on the strong arm plow. It looks like both tractors are doing fine. Next year maybe the wife will be out there on the super.

I guess someone has to take the action shots.

Nice pics but that's about all I ever get living in the south and that's fine with me.

Got some seat time

Nothing like fresh chain prints in the snow...I love seeing this up and down the drive

some would not believe a cub could push big piles

Jeff, my driveway looked very similar except it has some tri-rib marks showing in places.

I just looked outside and I can see a blade on a Cub won`t cut it with the snow we have down now. From the 12" up against my back door to the 3.5' drift that runs across my deck.IN my drive way where I have my diesel truck parked there is a drift that is running the length of the truck that is up half the truck side to the fuel filled door. It is still snowing and blowing with strong winds here still.I think I will use my Snapper walk behind and a shovel to knock the drifts down so I can blow the snow away. I think it will take a few hrs to get all this snow moved . Is see some drifts that must be 4' deep and some areas where there is only a few inches. What a mess and I know I have only one gallon of gas for the Snapper. So I will have to bust out the truck to get gas . I will post some pictures when I get a path to the shop open.

Don: Believe it or not, you're just making me even more jealous. I love a good snow storm. I also like the sense of accomplishment that comes from digging out; the community built by stories shared of storms past. I'll bet that when you go into town for gas, you'll stay cup of coffee (and stay, and stay, and stay).

Don T, wow, you got snow too. lol. It is fun to have a good storm. Well, for me, as I can stay in and look at all the snow, but for marlin it calls to getting the cubbies out. Usually though the city or a friend goes through the alley with a huge blade, so we aren't ever really snowed in, but even after our last snow and thawing, the end of the alley, drive is a mess, with built up snow the city pushed and ice.
Oh the furkids love it when Marlin has the blower out. They love to watch the snow fly. anyone else with kitties who find their kids love watching the removal process?

We did get some snow. No action pictures because the ATV and snow blower did all the work.

And 4 hrs and I`am not done. I`am bushed and will take a rest for a few hrs.

Don T, Glad to see you post. Was wondering how you made out. Looks like you got hammered with snow. You don't think that 1512D could have handled that?
