Apparently both Carter and Walbro carbs were used on the KT17. I'm trying to figure out which one I have so I can get a carb kit for it. I don't see any markings except a number stamped on the side of the mounting flange. (Can't read the number right now; it's soaking in carb cleaner.)
Can anyone tell me how to ID these things?
BTW, it's a Series II if that makes a difference.

Michael M:

Yup...the Kohler (Carter) Carb has an adjustable needle valve out the top of it, while the Walbro does not.

Thanks Roland & Matt,
Mine has the adjustable valve.

Now if your Main adjustment is off to the side of the carb its probably an adjustable Walbro which they can have. If the Main adjustment is at the top of the carb its a Carter. One of my 782's has a non-adjustable Walbro, my 1811 had and adjustable Walbro, and my other 782 has an adjustable Carter.
