I mentioned this in another thread, but figured I should divide it up.
I finished off the splines in my blower fan the other day. Now it's rebuild time. The fan is NLA and no immediate luck in finding a good used one.
It's a 7/8" 13 spline shaft coming out of gearbox. How do I know if the pitch on the replacement hub is going to be the same?
Other than taking a chance on it for less than $20?
Not a machinist, so maybe this small oof diameter there isn't any pitch choices?
Figured I could cut the old one out of the fan and weld this weld in hub in place. Worth a try. The spare fan I have is likely only going to last a few days of blowing and it would grenade too! Perhaps should make two at same time to have a spare.
