This liquid cooled engine is in my 2086 Super Garden tractor with 450 hours.

This year the right side of the engine is getting covered with a light coating of oil, which is then quickly covered with dirt.

The dealer says it could be leaking from the rocker cover gasket, base gasket area or even from the crankshaft seals.

Has anyone else experienced this and what your solution was?

The front cover on these tends to lose "seal" with the gasket material originally used. Sooner or later, the gasket will slip out from between the cover and block with lots of oily mess. If you do your own work, note that there are two O-rings also here to replace,so you will need the water pump gaskets, the 2 o-rings and the cover gasket. Inspect the camshaft gear while apart...if it is a nylon gear I'd get it outa there asap. They stripped teeth off badly. New gear/cam is metal.
