1995 Argo

Not a IH or CC, nor even a lawn tractor. For the last 30 years I have had this Argo 8 wheeler. All the wheels pull and it floats (about like a bathtub!) Kawasaki twin water cooled. it will go thought most anything.

It has 2 disc brakes that cause it to turn. It is a going Jesse. I've had 5 guys (plus me) in there plus a dog, guns, etc and etc going thorugh flooded soybean fields up in the Mississippi Delta. They make them in Canada. Kohler Kawasaki twin. I bought that new in '95 and paid $7000+/-. They are way more than that now. We now use it to pull cars around this lot.

A few more photos. Looks like Argo Corp is pretty $proud on their new 8 wheelers. Maybe $16000-$30000! Some are $50k!!

I did repairsI on an earlier model for a mutual friend of the owner, who was sick, and needed to get red of stuff. His was in poorer shape, many of the shear bolts were gone, so the only thing that kept it moving on level ground was the tracks. It was much better when I replaced the missing bolts and got the air-cooled engine running decently. Took two of my brothers on a test drive on the slushy river, actually had to winch out when we got hung up. Still, even then, it was a great machine.

A neighboring Fire Dept has one. They like it. It does have a bit of a ground clearance issue in some scenarios. Our Dept has a UTV (side-by-side) with Tracks. It can go places the Argo can't and vise/verse.
