I have to agree with Kraig, the 1X7 lever is much simpler than the 1X5, definitely because the brake isn't linked right to it. I also like how much more compact the whole thing is. My only issue with it at all is, obviously, the fact that it's so hard to get to!

with what KMC posted must be that outter tube the shaft itself slides in... like a threaded sleve of some sorts. tractor isnt all that rusty.

Ken, the hydro linkage does not sit inside a tube. I believe you're looking at the steering column tube, which sits directly in front of the hydro control shaft and kinda blocks it. Might be best to pull the whole steering box and column to gain access to it.
 
Kraig, you got me there :errrr: I really have no experience with 1X5 hydro linkage other than looking over what's on my parts machine.
