Wild Bill, Here is a mod I made for my stone drive way that works. I also moved & modified the spring to attach directly to the bracket that is bolted to the "armstrong lift". I can now adjust the plow so it floats.

Charlie Proctor, What changes/improvements did you make to your setup to give you those great results in blowing snow?

Mike M. The Brinly spring assist I am interested in is similar to the IH one. The Brinly is installed on the right side of the tractor and the spring is connected to the link that goes to the rear 3 point casting. I would like the dimensions of the brackets that are at each end. Or, if...

Anyone have a sketch and dimensions for the brackets for a Brinly Spring Assist? I have an extra spring and bolt and would like to fab the two brackets.

Bryan M. No mistake made, I never bought the Power White, I ask for input from the ones who know on this great site first.

Wyatt Compton, I was back at my Cub store and checked the paint I mentioned on this site. It is called Power White - #B17655N. You were right, it does look a little pink when I compare it to the 935 white.

Wyatt Compton, Thanks for the info. I will check the next time I go there for the color name. I did get some of the 935 replacement for narrow front rims for my 147's tri-rib tires.

Paint Question: Has anyone tried the Iron Guard white #B17655N for a match to #902 white for the cub s/n#s 218010 TO 375938? Seems lighter than the 935 replacement #991115N. These are the numbers for the spray cans.

Richard Christensen Very nice job on the deck. Excellent craftsmenship! I was admiring your gantry hoist. I supposed you made that? Where did you get the hoist?

Thanks to all who posted deck reinforcement info and ideas. That gives me a great start. The time I put into the deck has been well worth it. As I said, it mows so much better than it did before. Now I want to keep it that way by adding some reinforcing. Thanks again.

Richard C. Yea, I think that is it. From the photo it looks like maybe 1/2" round stock bent to go outside the deck skin to reinforce the weak side. Thanks for digging that photo up and posting it.

Art, Very well may have been Richard Christensen. Been awhile, but I hopefully downloaded a picture of the deck.

Steve Blunier, Thanks for the reply. I thought sure someone had posted a picture of reinforcement they did on their deck. As I recall, it was some kind of bracket over the top of the discharge end of the deck. I will check over the photos I have downloaded over the years and see if I can...

Steve Blunier, I finally got around to using all the good info you submitted on adjusting and tweaking mower decks. I spent quite a bit of time and effort in rebuilding my 48" deck for my 147. New bearings, seals, baffles, and blades. It now cuts GREAT. Before it seemed to cut on three...

Wyatt Compton, A backyard mechanic's method of checking valve guides: Lightly oil the valve stem and insert into the guide. Place finger over bottom of valve guide and pull valve out. If you hear a pop as the valve exits the guide you're good to go, if not you need to replace the guide. It...

Digger, My plow share is straight across on the bottom. The photo you listed indicates the share goes straight across to a protruding point. That protruding point is gone on mine. Thanks for your help.

Thanks, Digger. Mine needs a new plow share, the point looks like it is missing completely. Appears that it may have broken off.

Anyone have a picture of the plowshare on a Brinly plow? I was given one and it seems as though there should be more of a point on the plowhare. I need a photo to know for sure.

Generator hookup: A slightly different variation from Ed Smith's method. I had the circuits I felt were necessary to keep the important stuff running installed in a small sub-panel. Also in that panel was a 60 amp breaker to power the panel's circuit off of the main panel, and a 30 amp...
