    And It Starts....Electric Tractor

While waiting for wire, I changed the belts and gave the chassis a good grease and lube job. Plugged a small leak in one of the front tires......

    And It Starts....Electric Tractor

I drove two hours to NH to pick up four 12V, AGM, 100aH, Group 31, Deep Cycle batteries from Sams Club....At $179 each, easily the best deal on planet earth for quality deep cycle batteries......And no sales tax in New Hampshire! I mounted the contactor on an aluminum bracket I fabricated...

    And It Starts....Electric Tractor

We shall see! I'm attaching a remote LCD thermometer to the motor so I can monitor heat. I have a 6" 12v computer fan that draws very little current that I'll install if things get dicy. It will get its 12v from a DC to DC converter (48v down to 12V/30a) There is a 1" space between the...

    And It Starts....Electric Tractor

Welded up a couple holders for the four batteries. Two in the front, two in the back.....I haven't bought batteries yet, but I just had to see if it works...Pulled the two 12V deep cycle batteries out of my RV and ran the motor on 24V.....IT'S ALIVE! Ran great!.....Transmission controls speed...

    And It Starts....Electric Tractor

I'm shocked at all I accomplished yesterday. I started at 10am with a complete Toro riding lawnmower.....Had all this done by 5PM! Pulled the engine and anything else associated with it. Removed all the mower deck attachments. This tractor will have a front mounted mower with its own electric...

    And It Starts....Electric Tractor

Yea, I know its not a CC.....It's a Toro. I'm converting it to electric. I'll document the whole procedure and why I used what I used in an article when it's done. For now a tease....

    K Clift/ Restoration of my Dad's Cub 147

What he said....The "Break Over" will be a real issue getting a tractor with deck up that high. Convert that truck to a dump bed and install a winch up front. Simple straight ramps will then work as it will be a perfectly level, no breakover pull........ Or build a low trailer........ BTW...

Sleeve hitch and fabricated receiver today

The bracket I have does have "ears" , but there is nothing for them to attach to. Are you suggesting I might want to fabricate extensions to these ears and attach to the transmission/axle housing bolts that are shown in these pictures?

Sleeve hitch and fabricated receiver today

I'll look into something like this or extend these tabs upward to attach to the chassis.

Sleeve hitch and fabricated receiver today

You read my mind....very concerned about this alum transaxle. But I wont be tearing stumps out with it. Just moving trailers around and towing a garden cart. But I still might modify it to attach to the frame rails. It would allow me to sleep better....

    782 Sleeve Hitch "PIN PLATE?????"

Thanks....The picture I posted is not mine. It is a photo I found on the internet that showed what I was referring to. Matt, I found the longer clevis pin and used that. Here is what mine looks like currently....

    CC 782 no down force????

THANK YOU! That is exactly what I needed

    CC 782 no down force????

Today while installing a Sleeve Hitch on my CC782 I realized that there is no power down. The hydraulics lift the plow or mower up, but gravity lowers the implements. It looks like the lifting arm has a hole it it that could be attached to the hydraulic ram and afford down force.....is this...

Sleeve hitch and fabricated receiver today

Bought a used sleeve hitch from one of the folks on this forum.....He gave me a great deal! Installed it on my CC 782 today and welded up a receiver hitch for moving trailers around the property. I designed the receiver so the top of it rest on the sleeve hitch bracket. The weight of the...

    782 Sleeve Hitch "PIN PLATE?????"

I bought a sleeve hitch second hand for my 782 It came with all parts including the straight lift bar. But it did not come with a "PIN PLATE" From a few articles I've sourced (and photo below) it appears I do not need a Pin Plate as the lift arm just attaches to the cylinder link with an...

    Trunion Help please....

The Verdict......Well, It's better....But not perfect. Still a bit jerky but better than before. And now when I hit the brake in FORWARD, it returns perfectly to neutral. but braking from reverse it still creeps backwards. If there is a fix for this it will have to wait until another day...
