You can also look for an 1872. A little older but comes with a mag engine and has metal instead of plastic shields, hood and nose piece.

    Sprayers and weed control

Some of them won't pump pressure, the last one I got spit and sputtered everywhere, leaked around the pump handle and didn't spray well at all. I'd imagine I just need to clean it which I'll do. Just never remembered my dad ever cleaning ours growing up and we'd just mix spray, pump and go...

    44C Mower deck questions.

On the deck, if you can find a 50" for a decent price and have plenty of room to use it, go for it. I put the 50" from my 1872 underneath my 1450 (only because I was getting ready to mow and realized I left my 44" at my parents) and wow!... you wouldn't think that it would make that much of a...

    Sprayers and weed control

I'm going to get my last one out and run some hot, soapy water through it and see if I can get it going again...

    Sprayers and weed control

Well, it's been so dry and hot here in PA that lawn work has been very minimal, but the weeds have been taking over with a vengeance. I've bought several pump sprayers over the past few years and they all quit after a year or two... and it's not like they get used every weekend. Which leads to...

    Install belts on 105

That's what we're all here for, and, let's face it, the only reason 7/8's of us all joined in the first place...to ask questions and learn. Yes, bookmark the manuals link - you'll reference it often. Also, welcome to the club... (y)(y)

not looking but 2 fell into my lap

If it were me, I'd strip and repower the 1862 with an 18 Command. The 1864 I got for my parents is a sweet ride.... that'd be the same.

Proud New Owner of a 1973 Cub Cadet 149

Hooking it up isn't too bad but it's not a hoot...if you sit it on a skid, it's pretty much the right height to hook up. Otherwise, it's really a 2 person job because these things aren't light. Speaking of, you'll want to fill the rear tires with beet juice so you get the weight you need to...

On second look, it's been repainted. It still looks ok and for $125 doesn't look too bad.

Here you go, it's in Somerset but from the looks of it, worth a drive... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/339214899040105/?mibextid=dXMIcH

Proud New Owner of a 1973 Cub Cadet 149

Welcome from another PA'r... just south of Altoona. I have a QA42A on my 1450 with a speed up pulley. There's currently one on FB marketplace for $125 that looks like it was barely used. Definitely nice to have even if we haven't gotten to use them much the last 2 years...

    Weber eats

Yeah, I got it out yesterday and put it on around 12:30...so easy, I swear I don't know why I haven't done this earlier.

    Weber eats

Decided to try something today, nothing fancy, chuck roast with McCormick dry rub and salt. 3 hours with some mesquite... I'm impressed and ready to step it up a notch! Have a great weekend everyone 👍😎👍

    1967 craftsman 131.8570 10hp

While not as heavy duty as the older Cubs, I always thought they were pretty cool, simple machines. There used to be a member that had a fondness for the Suburbans. There might be a few others that may know more about it...

You called it, guess a better shut off valve and a carb rebuild is in order. Yay! 😡
