Matt, Thanks for the help. I have not changed the filter or fluid yet, I will do that this weekend, I do intend to do some plowing and snowblowing this winter, so I will adjust some more. Thanks again. Jeff

Hi all I have a 149 that I just got running. I think the gov is too sensitive as it seems to rev too quickly, yet when under load, does not always maintain engine speed, that's my first trouble. I read the FAQ and set the govenor as described in the manual. My second issue stems from the...

Could someone tell me if this plow would hook up to my 149, without major fab work. It appears to be different than my mower sub frame hook up, or would I use that sub frame?

OK First off I am not an expert on these so the owner may be right, but he did not seem certain of anything. First it was a 14hp then a 12 hp I was thinking that this might be a 1250? The owner says it has a 12 HP B/S and is a hydro Would a 1250 have a Kohler?

That looks like a good idea for weights. I had been looking for an idea like that. I saw a kit online that was expensive, but similar. Is that 26lbs per wheel that way? I had been contemplating making a form, so that I could install a large weight off the rear on bracket. I thought the...

Digger, Thanks for your input, I'll put that one in the 1450 column. Do they use the same hydro system?

Are there any major differences between the 149 and the 1450. I have a 149 and see that there is a 1450 available in my area, they seemed to be about the same size tractor? Is the 1450 a newer version more or less? Thanks

Hi I have a 149 that I recently purchased. It was starting fine. I readjusted the (correctly I think), as the PO told me that he had been messing with it. I do not think it is related, but wanted to mention it. I think that my problem is the ACR, it seems to stop cranking on the compression...

Alright, I am feeling a little foolish but getting closer. I think I have two problems. I took the spark plug out and it turns over fine. The generator battery must be weak, charging now, or more likely the compression release is not working correctly. Will not turn over with the plug in...

Jim I have a MW Garden Mark Squire 10. I agree on the nice look. It is hard to find info, there is a Gilson Collector's site on Yahoo, I have joined but not active yet.....might be a good place to start. There are also some manuals for sale on eBay. Jeff

Hi there I am having a problem with my 149 Hydro. I think the Trans is staying engaged, or re-engaging, as when it shut down it tried to creep. This problem is preventing me from being able to restart the tractor as the engine cannot turn separately from the drives. I read the FAQ's and was...

Hi, new here, and hopefully this is the right place for questions. I have a 149 Hydro that I am having a problem with it. When I shut it off the trans appears to be locking up, and you cannot restart as it will still be engaged and the starter gen cannot turn the trans as well as the engine...
