Yeah, i just came in from plowing. Totally soaked thighs. A cab would be nice. I wonder how bad they fog up. Wet boots, breathing out steam.
Anyone have input on foggy plastic windshield

Tony, I have a two-piece insulated rain suit, hood included, from LLBEAN. Cheers, Jack

I adapted a used Cozy Cab that I believe was once on an early John Deere, possibly a 318 to fit my 149. If you have any basic fabrication skills and the right tools, it's not all that difficult. I would highly recommend looking for a cab with a W/S wiper. Condensation on the inside of the windshield can be eliminated with a 12V. fan blowing towards the W/S. The time-consuming part is getting a good fit around the hood, engine, and frame, usually not that important except when blowing powdery snow into a 15-20 mph wind. I would not go back to blowing snow without a cab! Even with no heat it is still much warmer than being out in the open. I blew snow without a cab for years, tried everything I could think of, snowmobile suit, I still got wet sometimes and a face full of snow. Tried wearing a helmet but the snow stuck to the lens and worse yet, that caused it to fog up. I firmly believe a cab is a worthwhile investment.

I have a question, did they make a snow cab for the cub cadet 127? Has anyone tried adopting a modern snow cab to fit a cub cadet 127. I would like some protection from the cold and snow. So any advice would be great.
Yes, they were available

Hey good people of this form, I have a question about how to get this snowblower attached to this cub cadet. I don't understand how to get the snowblower high enough for the quick attach pins to slide in. When I try to lift the snowblower high enough to get the pins to line up. The snowblower hits the side the tractor as seen in last image. Any advice on how to get the snowblower on would be great.

For starters, the thrower has to go toward the rear of the tractor more, lined up with/on the 2 shoulder bolts in order to clear the grill. Just takes a bit more doing is all

Have you had this thrower on this Cub before?
What model thrower is it per the tag?

Here are some pictures of snowblower on the tractor before I took it off. I also included a picture of id tag.

removing/reinstalling is arduous enough that many folks leave the blower on and make it a dedicated snow machine . . . which of course justifies having a second (or third) Cub for warm-weather work! 😉
loader, mower, tiller, dozer, cruiser, daydreamer . . . 🚜💨💨💨

No reason then why it should not go back on.
No one said it would be easy.
Drive into it a bit further until the forks on the mount line up with the shoulder bolts.
I would consider storing on a roller dolly for easier storage and mounting in the future.

Now if you were trying to mount this on a wide frame Cub.....
THAT would be a whole 'nother can of worms unless it was a QA36A

I start by adjusting the pulley to the lowest position so it doesn’t catch on anything. The I put my left hand on the front of the housing and my right hand on the shaft and slide it back towards the shoulder bolts. That way you can pivot the mounting ears to catch on the shoulder bolts as you raise the back of the mounting bracket. Once you are past the grill frame, use your right hand to raise the mounting bracket to line the pins into the quick attach mount.

I got the snowblower on the tractor. (See image) for anyone in future who is having difficulty getting the snowblower on here is how I did it. 1. Get the snowblower roughly in position. 2. Get a low profile car jack and jam it underneath the snowblower as far it will go. You want it to lift the snowblower as one unit. Lift it high enough that it slides onto the shoulder bolts and quick attach pins go in. 3. Attach all bolts pins and belts. 4. Go to home depot and get dolly's and pieces of wood so you don't have trouble next time. It is absolute pain to get this snowblower on to tractor if it's not sitting on anything.

I have a question about the belt for this snowblower. Does it need to be a cogged belt or can it be smooth vbelt? Also is their a way to release the pully on the snowblower because I can't get the belt i have to slip over the pto?

You're gonna love this. I am Jack Casey, go to my content or just search 'IH CC 982 oil drain plug' for a cool way to use an EZ Oil Drain valve. Makes oil draining fun rather than a chore. Really!

I added an ez drain valve 110 and it works great. Thanks for the recommendation.

I wonder if the Harbor Freight motorcycle jack would work as both dolly and jack in one.
Just looked at those jacks. Yipes, they used to be 1/2 that price. Maybe this would be good https://www.lowes.com/pd/VEVOR-Moto...phUZ1Ir_K8szpHNJ1lBoC0OoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I just put piece of 4" x 4" lumber under the bracket (below the pulley area) of the thrower. Then, when you tilt the housing back & forth it aligns the mounting points with the shoulder bolts and front connection points on the tractor.

A smooth belt should work fine. To allow the pully to slide up or down there are four bolts that you need to loosen to allow the bracket holding the pully to slide. Once you have the belt on, tighten up the belt with the adjuster and. Then retighten the bolts.

Regular v-belt. I use a 1/2" belt from tractor supply on my 1450...has worked well for 2+ years.

This is your adjustment for loosening and tightening your belt. Start turning it and you'll see how it works...👍😎👍

Does anyone know the part number for tail light lense cover or where i can get some? (See pic for what I'm talking about)
