How is the PTO side bearing on a k181 pressed in. unfortunately I do not have a press.

I was asking about the bearings in the crankcase.
when I rebuilt my k241 I used 2 wood blocks that spanned the width of the bearing and the hole it goes into, (don’t squeeze the case, put your wood block inside the case) then used a piece of 1/2-13 all thread thru the center of the bearing (and thru the blocks of course) and nuts & washers to suck it in place watching carefully that it goes in straight. Throw your bearing in the freezer overnight and it’ll be a looser fit as you work. Other folks may have better suggestions.
Very rare they fail, but once you get things apart, give them a spin and check for roughness.
I got the new bearings in the block and bearing plate. installed the cam correctly. piston, rod rings went fine. but the bearing plate was too tight but went on. now i need to add a shim or to. I hope I don't break off or strip anything. The bearing is sure tight on the bearing plate side.
Tomorrow will tell. going to use new grade 8 bolts. I am thinking I should have used case lube for reloading with lanolin.
