I need to get a new ignition switch for my 1250. When I look for a replacement, it looks like it's supposed to have a 4-prong connector. But my switch and wiring harness has 5 prongs.

I am looking these on this page https://www.ccspecialties.org/electrical.html

This one seems to be what I need but my model isn't listed.
Cub Cadet Ignition Switch 5 Prong PN/ IH-146402-C91 Use 725-3026 or 925-3026
Fits 580, 582, 1015, 1020, 1050, 1204, 1210, 1211, 1215, 1220, 1225, 1315, 1320, 1325, 1330, 1405, 1415, 1420, 1430, 1604,

1606, 1705, 1715, 1720, 1730, 1806, 1810, 1811, 1812, 1872, 2072

This one says it is for my model.

Cub Cadet Ignition Switch 4 Prong PN/ IH-61524-C2 USE IH-61524-C3
Fits 800, 1000, 1200, 1250, 1450, and 1650
Which one should I get?

Thanks for your help.
Eric

Are all 5 of the prongs on your switch being used?
As you can see in the diagram below, there should be only 5 wires to the ignition switch, two of which are on the same prong
You obviously have the wrong switch installed now.
Get the one listed for your model Cub.
Compare the harness in your tractor with the diagram below.
Hard telling just who may have cobbled what wiring in the past.

I would get the one listed for your tractor then.
Why do you suspect the one installed now is defective?
Wont crank or won't start if it does crank?

Sorry for the delay everyone, the tornado that hit Northwest Arkansas kicked my butt. I just got Internet back today after it was out more than a week. I have good news to report, it turns out the problem wasn't the switch but the wiring harness had a short that plugged into the switch. I cut the wires off of it and put ends on them and hooked them to the switch and all is well. To answer a question above, only 4 of the 5 pins were used.
