So a friend sent me a text..

The metal was partially to blame, but lacquer paint isn't the strongest defense against salt related corrosion. Also the sealing techniques on these were not stellar. Fortunately, just about every single part is made for them now.

Thank you. In addition to the 1972 Cheyenne, I am almost done with my 1970 K/5 Blazer. My dad ordered it in 1970, and I was gifted it in 1987. It served me well, but it eventually became extremely rusty. I collected parts for it over a 25 year span, and the past 2 years I have been devoting most...

    44C Mower deck questions.

Check our sponsors that salvage old Cubs. Doubt a new one is available. If that doesn't pan out, there are a few used mufflers on Ebay. Ones from a Magnum 18/20 82 series will fit.

    44C Mower deck questions.

A pro welder could clean that up a lot if a solid shell can't be located. They are getting harder to find, but are out there.

    782 Restore paint

I use the Almond on my decks and mule drives. Lasts ok and touches up easily. The tractors get the Cub Cadet branded paint.

    Brake safety switch "paddle" replacement

If your tractor is serial number 716387 & Below, the MTD part number is either 732-3000 or 932-3000. Above that is 732-3039a or 932-3039a.

1210 Hydro Re-fill, tricks or tips?

I've recently been removing one of the relief valves and filled it there. The issue is venting, hence the burping.

Might just be sticky rings. I'd run it under load for a while and see if it improves. If this is a Series I, I would not bother rebuilding it. The Series II was an improved design.

    M18 hot

Magnums do run on the hot side. It's imperative that the tins are removed and everything blown out at the beginning of each season. Also clean the lower belly screen below the engine. The air flow on these was marginal to begin with.
