The guy at Les Schawb said that the tire size that are on my 982 (12X12X26) are a fairly common size used on ATVs and such. My question is could I use wheels for an ATV as well, or is the lug pattern different? For that matter, does anyone know what the pattern is so I can see if the tire guy can get me some?
also, do I need to run tires that wide. I'd like some thinner wheels and tires with really meaty tread to get through the mud and swamp grass on my property. The fat turf tires will just spin and sling mud all over me.
One more question. I've read a bit on adding weight to the tires, i.e. sodium chloride, or some sort of beet juice, and even RV antifreeze, but has anyone tried putting 50lbs of lead shot in each rear tire? I've seen similar done on off road 4X4 trucks to get extra weight for traction, it has the added benefit of being auto balancing on the road as well. Not that you'd need to drive a cub down the road all that often.
