Hi Everyone, Need your input. I‘m thinking about selling my 2001 40th Anniversary 3240 with 48” deck. It is in excellent condition. In fact, I have had it dealer serviced every year since I bought it new in 2001 — and I’ve already had it serviced for this year. So, it is in perfect running condition and ready for this season. I haven’t been hard on it, and it looks great, nowhere near a 20-year old tractor. With all of that said, what should I be asking for it? Here in PA, it looks like 3240s go for around $1,000. Given the excellent condition of mine, is $1,300 reasonable? Appreciate your expertise and guidance.

Here are some more details: I just had it dealer serviced for the season. I had two new front tires put on it, new deck belt, new fluids and filters and lubricated, plus had the blades sharpened. I’ve had it dealer serviced every year since I bought it new.

723 hours of use.

It has been garage kept. See attached photos.

What is a fair price?

I am sure it is just as clean under the hood as long it is not missing the upper air baffle It is worth the 1300.00

If it looks as nice in person as it does in the pictures I'd consider that more a collector piece and would try to find a collector to purchase it. That looks really good. Wish I was closer and had the room, I'd take it. Also for reference, last year in southern Wisco there was another nice one (not as clean as yours) I *think* a 48", he was somewhere in the $850 asking range. IDK what he ended up getting. It was listed maybe 2 weeks.

Thanks for sharing that info. I just don’t think I can let it go for $850, but it’s good to receive this info and manage my expectations. ... any advice how I make it available to collectors? Post it here?

Greg, thanks for the advice on posting photos. Feedback tells me my asking price was fair. I sold it in three days and the buyer is thrilled, so that’s all pretty fantastic, too. Thanks, again.
