IIRC. CC like too many other of IH divisions wasn't profitable. "A Corporate Tragedy" goes into it in some detail. After reading it, I was struck by the fact, in spite of it all, somebody was doing something right. They built some amazing equipment during the final years.

Aside from the last gasp from CCC making the Cyclops, that was pretty much the end for CC

I know a lot of people don't like what came after the cyclops, and I agree they are not as heavy duty. But I still like the 2000, 3000 series that came after. No they were not as good but still had some decent features. V twin kohlers and shaft drive. Still have a hydro with a changeable filter and a dipstick to check the oil. Plus the decks are still pretty simple and quick to take off/put on. A lot better than the farm/big box store mowers of the same era. Had one of those and while I liked the 2 cyl Briggs that was in it the rest of the tractor just wasn't very heavy duty at all. And the belt drive to the hydro was ok but obviously not good as a shaft drive imo.

I don't think I would be very happy with cubs current offerings.
