If you can't plant this year because you did something ... should I say "stupid" and hurt your back at the last PD (er Mud Day) then get one of these !!

I've got 2 vertebrae that are bone on bone from a crushed disc that has no fluid in it now and I haven't been walking to good or able to even CARRY a cup of coffee UNTIL I got one of these yesterday. Now I'm walking upright without my cane.

Just don't do like I did and let the lady at the pharmacy put it on ya then show yer wife how to work it. Letting 2 women play with the remote while you're wired up isn't a good idea !

They would run it all the way up on high then back down then back up again. I was dancing like a puppet on a string yelling, "Don't taze me man!"

Price $80

Ken:
That's available "over the counter", now, or prescription necessary?
Hmmm. Wouldn't have to step too far "out of line" to get tazed, would I?

When I had a severe muscle spasm in my neck about 6 years ago, I went to the chiropractor and they put something like that on me. It worked wonders.

KENtucky, just be glad that isn't a wireless remote....

Ken, is that a TENS unit ? I was supposed to have one here for my back 2 weeks ago but they screwed something up, supposed to be here next week now. Needed a prescription for mine. Last time they put me on one it felt great, relief didn't last long though. If it will help me get to sleep at night it will be worthwhile.

Yep it's a TENS. I don't know about sleeping with it all night. I turn it low and nap on the couch with it but in bed I think the wires would be a problem.

I felt so good today I put my new Gators on the 50c and mowed the yard front and back, even the ditch across the road ;)

Ken; I have a similiar TENS unit that I use for a protruding disc in my neck.It puts pressure on the nerves running into my left arm and causes numbness in that arm.The TENS unit helps a lot.Bought mine over the counter, but the salesman said it was prescription only.Anything to make a sale!I love to show people how well it works!

When we were getting mine yesterday I mentioned that Kathy had a bad back too (old injury / age) and the woman said she'd sell me one for her @ $60. I think I'll stop in there tomorrow after my visit to the bone cracker and get a second one. It won't be for Kathy though ... I put mine on her back this morning and as soon as the power level got to 1 she yelled and said she didn't like it and TAKE IT OFF !

Sure, she and the other woman kept running mine up to high yesterday but she can't take it at it's turn on setting ... womenz !... oh well , they're still soft and cuddly

Looks like a compact little unit. Is it portable ? I figured I could use mine a while before I head to bed then maybe I could fall asleep. The witch Dr I used to go to had one he would hook me up to. He would start it around 1/3 or so and tell me to turn it up as far as was comfortable. Would end up with it damn near all the way up, felt good though. The first time I was more amused with it like a toy, could feel the muscles contract and think.....cool, lets try it higher

I've done all the therapy, meds, nerve blockers, chiropractor, pretty much everything my surgeon has thought of. He said the only other option is to have the 2 disks removed but he also said the surgery does not work and to wait till I'm much older so if the TENS will help me sleep I will be real happy. Hope it gets here soon.
All this due to a MVA, lesson 1.....if ya can't see under the sun visor without sliding down in the seat, don't drive it.

Ken-
You should let Charlie hook that up to a web controller that will let us give you a hit for $1 a shot. You know, kind of a "take one for the team" deal.

It will be a good fund-raiser for the site. I bet we'd make $500 on the first day!

So from what I see here it must be an electric pulse to stimulate the muscles hmmm looks like somthing I might have to look into. I too have been living with pain for the last year and finnaly I am booked for surgery on May 15th for a hip replacement. I am thinking that thing might be good for building up the muscle loss around the bad hip.am I correct ?

Don - Only your doc could say for sure but it does stimulate the muscles with low shock.

Mine is the top of the line unit with plenty of control with a continuous , pulse 1&2 , and another modulation setting. The amperage , pulse time/width , frequency , intensity settings are all adjustable.

I went to the bone cracker again this morning and I barely could stand in the shower without it but I'm walking now without it. I'll be back on it before long though after sitting here.

Brendan - It runs on 2 AA's. I've been using the one at the bone cracker's office on high since start up and I wish it would go higher.
Hey you could get an electric fence charger ;)

This one puts out 0.98 milliamp @ 49 volts.

Art, I have a couple of shock collars for training dogs. I believe the range is several hundred yards.

Kraig-
That's a good idea, but luckly Ken isn't that close to us.

Besides, based on his (lack of) response, I don't think he liked the idea anyway.

Isn't that what Jerry Lewis uses for his back injury? I remember a couple of years back when he was on a TV program. He said that he had it turned up ALL the way so that he could walk onto the stage. Amazing how he could still manage a smile with all the pain he still had that day.

Angel tried one of those for her back. For some reason it doesn't help her either.
