Sure,should be fine. Clean very good after or paint won't stick on.

Sure. or,if you want run over to Massachusetts with it and we can mount it onto my lathe and clean the surfaces.

Can I blast both sides? Then do o have to sand?

Blast it all, clean any residuals, sand it on a sheet of glass, metal plate, granite counter top if you dare! LOL.. then paint as or if desired.

And I am in the South Coastal area of Mass. near New Bedford.

Just make sure you don't paint the contact surface of the pto.

Yes, do the cleanup first, then prep the contact surfaces for use. Use some tape to protect your hard work while painting.
