0 grade grease or John Deere brand corn head grease. It is a thin grease. It has the consistency of brown mustard.

You should service the Spiral Gear box . the auger bushings are NLA. I made some a few years ago from sintered brass. at least on my 451 the spirol gear box does not seal at all on the auger shafts. that gear box is the one I remove and clean out every year - its right in the snow/salt.Lub. specs. are on the last page of this manual.
Gearbox on those blowers uses bentonite grease, but I have heard of guys using corn head grease. But I wouldn't in mine.The rear gearbox on my 451 has a grease fitting on the bottom, Should i pump grease into it until i cant anymore ? Also the front gearbox, what oil is recommended and quantity ?
