Filing a complaint is one thing.. getting anything done is a whole 'nother matter.
Been there, Done that. Big waste of time for me and Ford Motor!

That has not been my experience. When the State Attorney generals office contacts a business, that business 99.9% of the time will resolve whatever issue is being brought up. I'm hoping that happens in this case. I'm sorry that your issue would forward was not resolved

I just filed a complaint with the consumer product safety commission after reading numerous reviews of peoples' mower blades breaking off of these electric mowers during use!! Public Incident Reporting - SaferProducts

And I am hopeful you can resolve the issues though the AG office. While I wasn't successful.. that doesn't mean "we" shouldn't keep trying. Sad that a major player in small equipment puts out a bad piece and then sticks a person with it while turning their backs. Let us know how it all comes out. I'll keep mu fingers crossed for you. Well, except at dinner time and... nevermind.

How to read the serial number on your machine

1C016HXXXXX through 1G310HXXXXX (manufactured between March 01, 2016 and July 31, 2020) The second through fifth characters of the serial number identify the manufacturing date. The second character is the month with A= January, B= February, etc. The third and fourth characters are the day of the month. The fifth character is the last digit of the year of manufacture (e.g. C016 = March 01, 2016).

I saw a '14 Cub Cadet Zero turn on CL this weekend for $300. claims the batteries are dead, and they cost $1200 to replace...something to look forward to, or plan the next fight?

The repair shop just called. The machine now works. No thanks to the engineers at Cub Cadet though, because they still have not called the repair shop back and told them what needed to be done. So what they did was they took the entire machine apart and put it back together. The only thing that doesn't work now is the hours counter.

So Cub Cadet has authorized the repair shop to bring back my mower tomorrow and with the part that's needed being on backorder the repair shop will come back whenever the part comes in, take my machine back to their shop, install the new part, and bring it back all at no cost to me of course

I'm so disgusted with the situation though at this point and after filing all these complaints with different agencies etc I don't even want it. Give me my money back!

But in the meantime the grass does still need to be cut LOL, so while all of these complaints that I filed get processed etc and as long as a machine continues to work I'll use it

I got the mower back yesterday. I just found out that last year someone filed a case about their gas powered mower catching fire. I called Kendall Levine, the attorney representing that case and told him if he ever wanted to file a class action suit he needs to call me. His number is 215-383-0081

The Ohio State Attorney General's office, where Cub Cadet headquarters is located, sent me the email below. It has begun!!

Re: MTD Products/Cub Cadet Corporation
Complaint# 983638

Dear Jacqueline:

Thank you for filing your complaint with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. We realize that consumers rely on our office to help resolve their concerns and we will strive to assist you as best we can.

Within the next 10 days, you will be contacted by a complaint specialist regarding our Informal Dispute Resolution (IDR) process. The IDR process involves the following:

A complaint specialist will be assigned to guide you through the IDR process.
Your complaint will be forwarded to the business and the business will be asked to respond.
Should a response from the business be received, that response will be forwarded to you.
If you and the business disagree, we work with both parties to try to reach a compromise.
This process will continue until the matter is resolved or until a compromise cannot be reached.
IDR is a voluntary process which requires cooperation from all parties.

We always make multiple attempts to contact a business and encourage it to participate in the IDR process. While we hope the business chooses to participate, if it does not, your complaint will still be retained in our complaint system and may be used to help us identify patterns of bad business practices that may lead to future action by our office.

Thank you again for contacting the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. We look forward to working with you.

Very respectfully yours,

DAVE YOST
Ohio Attorney General

So am I to understand that the consumer product safety agency only posts safety issues and does not actually investigate??

Got the mower back today. They replaced the module and it works, however this little black piece of plastic that makes the mower run now I cannot even figure out what the part number is let alone find one online to order a spare key. Does anyone know what the part number is? And of course Cub Cadet is closed right now so I can't call and ask them. They seem to be ignoring all the complaints that people have filed with the State Attorney General's office about their defective product
