gentlemen I need guidance !! Recently acquired 106 needed all new wiring.I finally pulled original harness and there were approx. 10 breaks in wires and insulation..very corroded as well..I now have it running but the issue is charging. There were several wires unhooked or broke near reg.I have a copy of diagram that shows a different reg. than what is on 106..The one ON machine shows field at top post, batt in middle and "L" on bottom plus post on back..This appears to me to be a reg for a 70.....The diagr.shows bat on top, gen.in middle, field on bottom and ground on back post...I'm very aware of others doing things that don't work...I'm trying not to be that person as well...Did I mention I'm not good at electrical anything???....I included a pic just to show how bad the old wires get even tho they are covered..

Mebbe he just wants to build one himself.

"10 broken wires" and the insulation is falling off and you still don't think you need a new wiring harness anyway?
Matt. I had about 30 ft of 7 wire cable from an older junk winch. That supplied the new wiring.Actually worked out great.Removed reg from 107,removed cover to inspect, It looked very clean .Once mounted and fired up it all worked, drove the 106 down the road to a neighbors barn for the winter
