QA-36B snow thrower

Hey all, I have a IH cub 1282. I have been searching online to see if a QA-36B snow thrower will fit my 1282 lawn tractor, anyone with information about this?

Yes it should work just fine. The "B" suffix indicates that is the later model that had the wider drive pulley (5/8" belt vs 3/8" belt) to work with the 82 series of Cub Cadet tractors.

That list of attachments only lists what was available at the time the 1282 was made, it doesn't include older attachments that will fit.

You could also find a much easier to find QA-##A and get a replacement 5/8 pulley from Charlie. That may be much easier than trying to find an actual QA-##B..... I don't recall ever seeing one in the wild. Not saying they don't exist... but....

Or another option that anyone on here will support.... find a second, older Cub Cadet, like a quietline and mount the QA-##A on it and leave it there... I remember someone saying that each attachment you own should have it's own tractor.......

If you get the QA-##A in addition to needing to change out the drive pulley you will also need to get a set of curved upper links so that they will clear the grill when raised.

Once again you guys have proven to be a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate it. I found a QA-36B snow thrower for my cub. Turns out the guys has a 1282 in very good shape he is selling as well but I do not believe my wife would appreciate another red cub......
