Pto thrust button

What's the options on the different PTO thrust button material? Bronze seems soft for an application on a PTO. my 107 decided that it would mow its last time yesterday with its 53 year old thrust button. Surprisingly I was able to remove the PTO assembly without any issues.

Bronze will last longer than the fiber button. Anything harder will wear out the center button on the pto. You don't want that to happen!
