this was just an exercise in comparison between available rattle can paint in these colors to compare between what "they call" correct colors.

Rustoleum Almond is a good match to my 40 year old IH/CCC white.

They are about to price me out of the rattle cans, bought 935, Federal Yellow, and the new IH red, the rattle cans at the dealer were @20 bucks a piece. All together 62 dollars.

They had a 905 white that looked to be a bit lighter than 935................maybe a closer match to 901 ?

Is there anything better than Federal Yellow, match wise, it didn't look to be that good of a match to the original ?

Honestly, I tried a bunch of them over the years and found the Ironguard to really be the best in either the rattle cans or quarts. Always glossed up nice.

I thought it matched pretty good, but I suppose it can vary a bit from time to time.

Some of this has been repainted with Rustoleum Almond, and some is original...

The side panels are Almond. The nose and hood are original factory finish.

That's sure not the way I remember the almond, but I do remember only trying it on a small part for comparison and then deciding it was to dark before eventually repainting with Ironguard.

Generally they all look pretty nice when they are sitting by themselves. The real test comes when they are in a line up at a tractor show. From a 10-20ft distance you'll see some stick out like a sore thumb.

I have enough for my own show. Here it is next to my 1986 1811 with all original finishes. Looks good enough to me.

Nice looking line-up!! That Ironguard was great paint either spraycan or from a gun — not sure it’s the same anymore. I have some painting to do this fall with all 3 colors, may get fancy and use Imron or PPG or something.

I like my 1811alot, I've had it for about 12 years. Its a daily driver but i never cared for the big white hood so i did what i had to do.

I just used Irongard on my 782D. It works "okay". Wasn't super impressed with it, nor super disappointed. It cost me around $20, whereas the Rustoleum is $10.

Did you use the rattle can style? I haven't used any type of rattle paint that works very well. Liquid Irongard in the quart always works great!
It would take me 100 or more rattle cans to do what I can do with 3 quarts of liquid. And looks way better. If it is a working tractor or such, rattle cans work fine. If it is a "fixed up" tractor, use the liquid.
