Off season deck maintenance

Other than trying ones hand at welding in some patchwork on the 48” deck, is there any general consensus on off season deck maintenance? Just scrape clean as possible with a putty knife? Wire brush or wheel and possibly paint on bare spots? Looks darn good as it is? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Yeah, you got it. Clean it the best you can. and paint it - I like to do at least 3 coats.
then clean and sharpen blades, add grease to the spindles after seeing if they still feel smooth and no noises.,
and inspect belt / pulleys and also the idler!

Paint bottom with Truck Bed liner, will reduce future rust.
