There will be less vibration from the 260, but the torque will be comparable to the K341 LOL
Sheesh, you could use a 307, 350 or 403. They're all the same size. Although it's probably the best use of a 260 that I can think of.

considering the lift pump maxes out at 30 horsepower 2.8 is too much
Will be ok until you need to turn.
Yeah, definitely will need power steering. My 1450 is tough enough to turn when sitting still as it is, let alone that type of weight...
