how to get set screws out of clutch that run the deck? tried brand new allen wrench acts like it stripped. one came out so i knew i had right size.
 
Someone just had the same problem. You could probably do a search (upper right corner) and find the thread. Everything you need to know is on this thread/topic.

Take the wrench to the grinder and grind the end a little to create a little metal to hang over the side, that give you a little more grip. I have been known to use a Torx bit for the really tough ones.
 
Use a punch just small enough to fit inside the allen socket, smack it good a couple times with a BIG hammer. Lot of times that will jar them loose.
 
Don't forget to spray it good with something like P B blaster for several days. Clean out those socket heads good also, so the wrench will go down in it all the way.
 
I use a good quality socket style allen wrench on a 1/4 or 3/8 socket.. you can tap the end of the socket and drive the allen wrench deep into the slot.. works for me..
