My wife and I (it’s actually my wife’s) own a
Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2 54”. Iit’s been relatively problem-free, but it has thrown a belt, yesterday for the second time. I got the belt back on the first time, but at age 80 I’m not sure i can do it again. I think she may have either bent a spindle or a blade when she hit something in the tall grass. We get a lot of rain here in N.E. Louisiana. May need to break down and take it to the dealer for a checkup.

I guess the first question is which belt? My father has the same mower and his only throws a belt when he hits something or when the belt is damaged. he is 82 so I get the call. I replaced his drive and deck belts this year. they were worn but not broken so we kept them both as emergency spares. he has not thrown another yet this year.

In Ohio, we only break a belt after 2pm on saturday- right after the the cub dealer closes for the weekend....
