Hello,

Bought my first cub cadet. It’s a 1450 that needs some love. My kids seem to be all about working on it and I couldn’t be happier.

Were glad to have you join us !!! Looks like a great project, I have a 1450 I also hope to get started on one day lol too many irons in the fire right now. It’s resting in the basement for now.
 
You say the hydraulic valve is removed? Visually checked that? Hopefully you're wrong. What is more common, is that the pin that connects the lever shaft to the linkage that operates the valve breaks. Yes, it's a **!!**!! to replace without pulling things way apart, but still a whole lot better than needing to replace the whole valve! I just replaced the pin on my 149 last year, PO had used a too-small R-pin, lots of slop.

Ahh. For repair purpose, I hope. Wishing you success with however you proceed, then. I've been fortunate, haven't had to get into the hydraulics. Have had to get the engine rebored, then I rebuilt it. Much easier, I think, but have no experience with hydraulics, as I said. I'm sure others can chime in on that.

I just remove the sides, gas tank, and gas tank brackets, it is still tight but not bad.
