Hi Guys, New here, and to cub cadet. Have a 2148, looking for suggestions on how to attach tow behind items like a moboard plow, or cultivator. This machine does not have a 3 pt hitch. Build one, or buy one. Where to buy? Could modify if necessary with an electric actuator. Any suggestions?
Pete

Not 100% sure, but I don't think the 2148 was built to handle such attachments as a moldboard plow, or cultivator.
I once has a 2186 that did however have a hydraulic powered tiller attachment and a electric lift.

Peter, look up top in the parts lookup and put in 2148 as model then work ur way down to 'accessories' that were available. Think I saw info on both front and rear hitches.

Hi Allen, and Lonny, Appreciate your response. I checked for attachments, and didn't find any hitches, plows, or cultivators listed. Your comment, Lonny, "I don't think the 2148 was built to handle such attachments as a moldboard plow, or cultivator." encouraged me to contact Cub Cadet. They said the towing capability for this tractor was 1/2 the gross weight, (850 LBS) less the weight of the driver. That leaves about 200 pounds. Doesn't sound realistic, but I don't want to void my warranty. Sounds like I need about a 1948 Cub instead of what I bought. I love tractors, and I have been very happy with this one, just seems to have a lot of limitations. Thanks again Pete.

I would call your dealer back and asked if the sleeve hitch from a 2186 will fit/work on your 2148.
