i have a 3 blade deck for my 100 that measures about 48" at its widest spot. can i assume it is a 48" mower deck? i know, sounds stupid but was wondering on what part gets measured, deck or cut width or whatever

Measure blade tip to blade tip, that will tell the tale.
It should have a metal tag riveted on it as well.
Post a pic as well if you can as all decks are not created equal, even if they are the same size.

If it is the mower deck in your profile photo that appears to be a 42" mower deck. It would be close to 48" wide overall, as the discharge chute adds some to the width beyond the blade tip on the discharge side. That mower deck is commonly referred to a cast end deck and/or a pin on style deck.

Is that a PJM Rhododendron in the background? If so that is a beautiful example. If not, what is it?

Thats not the deck in question but it is just like it. so it seems to be a 42". i have several the same size but none have the original decals on them. since the paint job on one of my other 100's turned out nice i am going to splurge for decals for it and wanted the right ones.

i think that is a PJM behind the 100. i have several at the house and they are beautiful. that one was planted at least 40 years ago has since gotten a haircut because i needed to run electric and water to my shop so its a little smaller now but still nice. i love rhododendron and mountain laurel and have several different shades. at my camp i have the native white rhododendron and it is my favorite but for some reason it does not transplant well. i need to fence all of it in the winter because the damn deer will eat it to nothing.

now the next question is does anyone have a pic of the correct placement for the decals? i ordered these maplehunter 42" deck decals.

and thanks as always. this is a great forum.

I should be able to round up a photo that shows the decal placement when I get home from work this evening.
