My dad was 1/2 owner and he gave me his half.

Talked to his partner and he sold me his interest in it for $250.00. The bargain included a 6T tilt-bed trailer for it.

The Cat sat in a field and hadn't been run for over 15 years. Took me a couple of hours of tinkering with to get it running.

Used it to clear some brush, level the driveway and level off a spot for my 40 ft. ocean container, runs great!
The fellow by the CAT is my brother.

Awesome acquisition!!
And, at a great price!!
Kind figured you must be out west somewhere, that rig sure would not look that good if it
had been sitting out in a field here in the Midwest for 15 years worth of winters!!
Looks like one of the Cats I ran while stationed at Camp McCoy WI back in '65 'cept they were Korean War era D8-2U's

Keep the fluids changed and ever fall drain a little out of the trans, third member, and finials to keep the condensation water out and that way no freezing up and no cracked cases !!!! I’m an Ol cat Mech seen to many shot from broken cases SIR !!!!! And vents clean !!!!

We had one back in the day.

I recall its convenience was often met with trying to over-match it in work or conditions.

Always on hand - or near at hand for its transport convenience - if another machine needed a *nudge*.

We got a great deal of work out of her as a medium-duty claw-machine too.

Was noisy as all get-out but just a great little all 'round worker if we remembered to not ask too much of it.

I'd buy into one for many.... MANY times what you did.

Have fun gettin' it done

Todd.
