i found a model 81 today. had a for sale sign on it with a number so i called it and asked how much and he said take it. it has good paint but i think it might need a set of rings. i will have pics of it soon. i happy i got it. its my first cub cadet

Still got mine, early 80's? craftsman that was my grandpa's. 8-horse vert briggs, 3-speed trans. Fixed it a couple years ago with a newer briggs with higher revs. No brakes, pops wheelies like no tommorrow and starts any time I want it to. LOVE that tractor!

Great find. I too have a Cadet Model 81 around here somewhere. It's engine is sick as I recall...Just FYI, the Model 81 is a Cadet Lawn Tractor. A great little mower. There is a section for discussion of Cadet Lawn Tractors, where we should be, and there will get you a lot quicker responses to questions you may have about your Model 81.
