I got this old K241as running today. It sat for 25 years and with a cleaning of the points and a different spark plug it fired up! I just want to say that I have no idea what this is worth so I put the price at $700 to start. I had a guy say they were getting $500 to $600 for just the tillers. This tiller is complete and I rolled it over . it is fine, just needs sanded and painted, the lid needs to be straightened too. Anyone interested, call me. I will sell the tiller and the tractor, or just the tiller. The mower deck will go with the tractor. Call me if interested in dealing. Thanks, Tom

Why would you say I am full of it I'm trying to tell you guys what I am doing with this thing I did get it running in the tiller works so why am I full of it

I used to think this was a pretty nice for I'm starting to change my mind because ever since I come on here asking questions about where to put this and how to post that and what have you all ever gotten is ridiculed I guess you must have to be a part of the Inner Circle or something to be on here is that right

you guys really know how to make a guy feel welcome on here as I said I used to think this was a great forum but you guys are not very nice

You guys think that when someone new comes on here he knows exactly where to put postings and I want to tell this is not an easy program to follow for someone new. I now not putting up with your ********, you can all got to hell I do not need you idiots !

Thomas, David was not referring to you, he was referring to the guy that told you they were getting $500 to $600 for tillers. Please point out where you have been ridiculed.

Whoa, Tom! I don't think Dave meant you - more like the guy that "priced" the tiller for you. Maybe one of the reasons that "pricing" this "vintage agricultural equipment" can't be reliable because of "supply and demand" differing from area to area. That said, besides the working tiller with its right angle gear box you've got lights, wheel weights, ag tires, and a good time of year to sell it. Plus, that mowing deck is almost a bush hog when working properly!. I've found the 10hp engines start easily and run smoothly. Shall I keep going until you decide to keep it? :)

it started with Digger when I was trying to figure out what to do with this tractor I am just tired of this site I tried to delete myself from here but I can't figure out how to do it again sorry for being old and stupid please delete me I don't want anything to do with you people anymore I'll put these tractor on eBay

Tom,
I'm sorry if you took that the wrong way.
I just believe that "guy, whoever he is is a bit overly optimistic in his evaluation of that tillers worth is all.

Glad to hear you got it running at least. That is a start.
Most on here will agree, I'm sure that it will take a nice chunk of change and some time and effort to turn one of these Cubs into what they were when newer and operating as they should.

Good luck with your sale!

well that guy was from on here that said it. and that did not mean it is what I was asking for any of this stuff, I was willing to take offers. and I am sorry for the remarks that I made, I was just upset, and didn't feel I was getting any respect.

I was the one who said they go for$500-$600 and that the truth in southern IN I’ve had a couple and actually sold one for $500 and have seen several priced in that same ball park or higher. It is based on location and also the market. I think $700 for the whole rid is a fair asking price as long as you make a little money on the deal that’s all that really matters

I am in Western Pennsylvania 55 Air Miles due north of Pittsburgh and thank you for stepping up and confirming what you told me price wise I will sell this tractor mower deck and Tiller for $700

Well Thomas - figured it might be time for me to pop in and say something. I've been around this rodeo for some time now. It used to be strictly prohibited to "ask what something was worth" on this Forum. That appears to have changed now so here's what I have to say about your Model 100 with cast-end deck and a Tiller. (And for what it's worth, most of the members on here already know my posts are fairly long winded :)

1st, prices are very very sensitive to location. In Indiana your Tiller appears to be worth BIG money, which surprises me. These Tillers had been fairly common across most of the Mid-west and I believed they were priced in the $100-$300 range depending mostly on condition. I don't really consider PA to be in the Mid-west but believed Tillers were fairly common there as well. The problem in PA is the rust. Yours look pretty typical to me for a PA tiller, and generally would be worth less compared to the mid-west. Along the east coast tillers aren't as common and tend to be worth more "at the right time of year" (basically spring). Complete Tillers with the right-angle gear box would sell for $200-400 and maybe even slightly more if they were in terrific condition. Since many are only really used for a short period during the year they are often in really nice condition even tho they are 40-50 years old.
You don't show a pic of the tines which are critical, and very expensive to replace, if you can even still find replacements. The rest of the tiller parts had been fairly bullet proof BUT in recent years I've heard of things actually wearing out. They are not really designed to be re-built. I had a machinist friend that did completely dis-assemble and rebuilt one, and he had to actually make several of the parts. The cover for your belt guard is missing in the pic so lots of things normally somewhat covered have been exposed and appear rusted, so I have to wonder about the condition of everything else.
You don't show a pic of the right-angle gear box which does fail on occasion, at least the bottom pulley, sometimes the internal bearings, and hopefully not either of the shafts. These boxes can be expensive to rebuild and use 3:2 ratio gears. While a fair number of snow thrower gear boxes are around and appear pretty much the same, they aren't direct replacements since they generally have 2:1 ratio gears.
So, all in all, based on what I can see of your tiller and can't see of your right angle gearbox, and assuming you can demonstrate that it works good and the tines are in fair shape I'd say it's worth about $100-200.
Now, it's not clear to me if you're going to sell the Model 100 tractor or not. It also looks pretty rough and rusted up to me. I see several holes on the frame have been added. The fenders are not correct and neither are the wheel weights. It's missing the front grill, doesn't have the correct seat, and tires look to be in rough worn condition. One nice thing is having the lights. All in all, even tho it's got all that typical PA rust, and assuming the engine runs good and the clutch shifts good, I'd say the tractor itself with the cast end mowing deck is probably worth around $150-250. If you were located in the Mid-west or more on the east coast it might be worth a little more, but my guess is your tractor does need some work to really get it back to good operating condition.
So - hope my info helps you out. You don't have a Gold mine. You've just got an old IH Cub Cadet that could be restored.

That was explained very well!
