i’m not sure what it is called but on the block right behind the carb there are two fin vents and i have a little oil coming out of them. not much but enough to drip down the block. any idea what these are and what is causing it?
 
That is the breather.
Chances are you have one of the gaskets leaking, there are 2 in there
or plugged return hole back to the sump
or the breather plate is installed up-side-down placing the drain hole on top
Or worn valve stems and/or guides
or the retaining nut is loose
Take your pick
You will likely need both gaskets

makes sense, thanks. looks like i need to pull the carb to get at it. what about the seal and the filter shown in the drawing?

and do you know where i can get these parts?
