Going to look at a 1650 for $250 around 2 miles from my parent's place. Owner says only problem is a "busted exhaust port". Has wheel weights and a deck from all I see in the picture. Will put up some pics after I check it out...

Oh boy... I hope you're bringing something to haul it home in! Look at it this way, you're buying a set of wheel weights for $150 and get the rest for $100.

Hmmm,,,,
Busted exhaust port....
Could be anything from a broken exhaust elbow ( specific for the 341 and not cheap) to broken/cracked muffler inlet pipe to broken and cracked shrouding and/or mount.

Oh, and the 1650 is a bona fide garden tractor and not a lawn tractor.
Post belongs next section up from this one

Good luck!!

Ah crap, I didn't even notice I was in the wrong section...

Bought it, he cracked the head trying to get the broken elbow out... so it's gonna take a little work but it ran fine and LOUD...🤣

Understandable in your excitement to get a 1650 for cheap that you posted in the wrong section. Easy to fix, you're all good now.

You guys seen this seat before?...guy I bought it from seems to think it's the original.

That could be the original metal seat pan with an add on replacement cover/cushion.

Did he not have the side panels, or did you not take a photo of them?

Yes he had them, they're in my trunk. 👍

At first I thought someone fabbed up some arm rests for the seat since I never saw that seat before, but when I got there and got a close look at it I thought "either this was off something else or someone did a really good job".

Glad you found that picture... seat cover is definitely different but it really looks authentic. Either there was a different style or someone did a good job reupholstering it. But, alas... cover is toast so I'll have to either redo it or try to patch it somehow...

Yes, it was just posted this morning. I was the 10th person to message him by noon and the first to get there...

My brother sent me a link to a bare block on eBay for $180 obo plus shipping. I could always offer $100 and see what happens but I'm thinking about welding the large chunk back in place... that would cover over 3/4's of the exhaust.... dunno. Will get a better look at it tomorrow when I get it home, take some pics and post them so I can get you all's opinions.

Boy those seat arm rests look neat but when I finally got them they were a real PIA - they just get in the way.
And I'm wondering why he was even trying to remove the exhaust elbow - or even why it was stuck. Once you take that locking place nut off they usually unscrew fairly easily - but if they don't you have to use heat. I think I'd recommend a different block if that whole section cracked off.

I'm at a toss up.... I believe with some creative thinking, I can fix this... I'm thinking welding the large chunk back in place with a straight union in place.
Apparently the elbow was broken off at the block and he tried using an easy out to get the rest out. He's a young guy so I'd imagine he used an impact and once it broke he decided to give up.
I haven't ruled out replacing the block as I'll probably remove it to upgrade the mounts. Will have to see how things work out...

I will post some pics this week and see what all kinds of suggestions everyone has and go from there.

BTW, what is the most you guys would lay out for a bare bones block that needs slight honing and nothing more? 🤔

Yes, IH really cheaped out on them. I noticed that the right side hits the hydraulic lift lever and I can only imagine how irritating they would be in the down position swinging about... but cool they're still in pretty good shape nonetheless.

There is something wrong with your hydraulic lift lever. At rest (neutral) it should be in a complete vertical position.
