Both the intake and exhaust valve came from the factory with a 45-degree seat. Does the engine have evidence of the valve seat being replaced? Is the valve that came out obviously a different seat angle than the exhaust valve? Not sure you have much of an option other than replacing it with the correct angle valve seat.
I can’t look at the motor now, it’s 2 hours away at the shop. They had me mail them the old valves tho. I will keep your thoughts in mind.

The shop bored it, honed it, surfaced it, and did the valves, ended up using the old valves and guides tho for some reason they had problems with the lil red barn parts or something. The said I’d have to trim/cut the valve tips to get adequate clearance. They also said they think it’ll run good. Soaked me $150. Now where do I start? lol. Think I can throw in the new governor right away, but I noticed the old one is metal I think, I was told they’re plastic, as is the new one.

That is quite a deal for the amount of labor involved.

I would keep the metal governor gear instead of replacing it, assuming it is in good condition.
The K161/K181 do not have adjustable lifters like the larger engines...the ends of the valve stems have to be ground to set the valve clearance. This info and many other things can be found in the service manual, which is a free download from Kohler's website. That is where you need to start.
