I own a cub cadet riding lawn tractor 2007, model number 13ax11ch756. One day my dad went to start it and the battery didn't have quite enough juice so he unplugged the headlights. This worked. It started up and he began to use it. The problem was that sometime while he was mowing, the headlight wire grounded onto the bumper or something and shorted. The mower died right then and now the ignition won't even make a click sound so something is fried and I the only fuse I found was in good shape so I need help. If someone has any suggestions I'd be greatful.
Thanks!}

My owners manual also says that it is model LT1046. That may be useful.

Brian, go to the home page of this forum the one that shows up when you log in and find the section that says Wiring diagrams. Find your tractor and save/print a copy of the diagram. Thats going to help you and also others that will check in later.
Sorry, I'm not very familiar with your tractor, so not much help.

Brian my friend did that today and after charging the battery it was back to cutting, so I guess I am asking if you checked or charged the battery?

Ya I charged the battery. So thats not the problem. I looked at some wiring diagrams. They are kind of useful but it seems that there are no diagrams for lawn tractors that are newer than 2001. Does anyone know where I could find the diagram for my model?

Brian: All the electricians I ever worked with started by tracing wires, with or without a diagram. I think it is time for basic trouble-shooting. As in:

1. Do you have battery voltage at the key?

2. What happens when you turn the the key? (at each position)

If you don't have battery voltage at the key, work backwards to the battery.

If you do have battery voltage at the key, and the key works, trace the current forward to find the problem.

That's how I got my 782 going. I made a wiring diagram as I went along. I would not recommend it for a tractor that had been butchered up like mine had, but if the tractor is relatively untouched, you should eventually find the problem.

Just a thought.

Your other option is to swallow hard and take it in for service.

Whether you work on it yourself, or you take it to someone else, simply depends on whether you have more money than time (service); or more time than money (or you just want to find out how everything works) --DIY.
